It is impossible to always have a good day, that things we think we are very familiar with can go on to hurt us. Nothing is predictable, we can be happy now and the next minute will be something else.
It is my first time participating in this community task, I have been looking forward to this moment for somedays now. I am glad I was introduced to this community, I know that they will drive me to remain motivated with writing because I have become lazy at it.
I am happy I was verified and this will motivate to participate in task and I can from there become a regular writer like I use to do on steemit before.
I haven't had an accident at work before but it happened to me several times which is not work related but most of them are minor accident like football wounds, climbing trees and playing rough when I was in junior school.
The worst of all accident experience I had was during secondary school, my friend invited me to his church anniversary and I attended with other school mates. The pastor of the church was also our school pastor so were are very familiar with him and we were well entertained at the anniversary, I enjoyed myself to the fullest.
After the anniversary ended, my friend was packing chair so the remaining of his friends joined so that it will be quick and we can have time to talk as usual. We rushed the work and it was time to return the speakers and other music instrument that they rented.
The pastor has a pickup, we packed all the instruments at the back and he drove to the rental service store where he rented the instruments from. We helped them in offloading everything and he was happy because we made the work easier for them. When we were coming back from the rental service shop, something happened. The truck left the tarred road and entered the untarred road, it was entering and coming out of the potholes on our road.
I was sitting on the back of the truck and the back opened suddenly, I fell backward and I was quick to grab a part of the truck so I didn't hit the ground. My leg was on the floor and the truck was moving, my friend tried to stop the pastor but he didn't hear. He stop immediately he heard and rushed down to check what happened.
My foot had peeled, and some part of my leg peeled as well. I was taken to a chemist for treatment, I got a pain reliever and a tetanus injection. I wished I didn't attend the anniversary but it was destined to happen.
Since then, I haven't sat at the back of a truck again because my mind is always there. I don't want to die young and to prevent it, I must not do things that will take me to an early grave.
