Going through my Twitter feed, I came across a trend about a woman who is confused on what do to save her marriage and home. The story was actually a sad one and to be honest, I really don't know what to say or how to advice her in this situation. I guess her confused state contributed to her poor decision making.

The trend was about a medical doctor and her husband who lost his job as a software engineer. Getting another job wasn't forthcoming and so, they decided that she should travel to Canada to work and when she is stabilized over there, she can then send for him and their two daughters.
After some a year or so, she decided to visit Nigeria for the Christmas festivities and to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. Getting to Nigeria, she noticed a tense atmosphere between her daughters and her husband but she thought it was the normal teenage-parents issue, and so she ignored it.
However, she noticed that her daughters were often rude to their father who they've always adorned in the past. It became a matter of concern to her, and she had to find out what the problem was. She asked her daughters, but they kept telling her to go ask her husband.
She then decided to ask her husband who told her that nothing was going on and that it was nothing he can't handle. He added that their daughters were keeping bad company in school and because of that he stopped them from going to parties, drops them in school and creates time to bring them back from school.
She became so happy hearing that since she knew that such strong hands were needed for their daughters to become decent women in the future. She then ignored their daughters attitude. Few days before she travels back to Canada, she called her daughters to talk to them and after a very long talk, they told her that their father was having sex with them and that's why he didn't want them to leave the house.
She was so shocked but had to wait for her husband to come back. When he finally came back, she confronted him with what the girls said and the girls without any fear, also repeated what they said in his presence. Her husband denied it, but the girls insisted it was the truth. She became confused and decided to seek counsel from her pastor and her husband's family.
They called the girls to ask them about it, and they said the same thing. She became very confused not knowing what or who to believe. Her husband kept telling her that the girls were lying, pleading with her to believe him, but she was not ready to listen because she didn't see any reason why her girls would lie about such a thing.

She filed for a divorce and then made arrangements to take her daughters back to Canada with her, even though she had to take a loan to do that because of the extra cost. She raised the girls all alone for 3 years.
After 3 years, she heard the news that her ex-husband was getting married to someone else. She told her girls about this and expressed how sad she was that a man that had the guts to do such a thing to her daughters got away with it because there was no evidence to push the case. She started crying, apologizing to her daughters for what their father did to them.
It was there, and then her daughters confessed that their father never touched them, that they lied because their father never gave them the freedom they wanted to do what they desired and also because they wanted to come stay with her in Canada.
Her world shattered that very moment. She knew right then that she had made a very costly mistake. Where is she going to start from? How is she going to apologize to her husband? She would have probably trusted her husband more, but then, she was just trying to be a good mum.
She lost a good husband and father to her children just because she didn't trust and believe him. Is there any way he could ever forgive her and their girls? Is there still a way for her to save her marriage?
Guys, what do we think about this story? Whose fault is it? The children who lied because they wanted freedom or the woman who didn't trust her husband enough to believe he was telling the truth?
