Edited from Logo Maker app
Week 36 went well and many contestants already displayed their best posts in the first issue and many of them did indeed show the best and deserved posts. This time we will enter the 2nd edition this week, and as usual this second edition is also filled with very exciting titles to discuss. In this 2nd edition in week 36 we will discuss a little about the Old Way, which is the old way in today's era is something that has been left behind, and I have an opinion on this, therefore, this time I will explain it. in this post.
So, listen carefully.
Along with the development of the era, human life is getting more advanced, it cannot be denied because humans are creatures who can develop their minds and human thoughts and knowledge will develop from generation to generation. The development of science carried out by humans is certainly a development in a positive direction and makes the life of this human being easier and better. The development of this science is not only to facilitate human work but also to explore various other sciences which will have an impact on all living things.
The development of humans and science of course does not just happen and instantly, it happens gradually and of course from generation to generation. Humans also learn from other humans to do something and therefore humans will continue to learn about what is the big question for them. Maybe we see today that there are many developments in various fields, and even they can do anything thanks to the development of technology, and this technological development occurs after centuries of human learning and of course doing everything traditionally as what our ancestors did before.
Before we know all the technology and various developments as we see today, our ancestors used to do the same thing as we do even with traditional objects, this is of course very difficult for humans to do in this day and age and most of the we can't do that anymore. Sometimes we are also taught and introduced to cultural preservation which contains how our ancestors used to do things with traditional tools and even some of us have just seen this.
Maybe today's children only know how a job can be done by technology, and even today's children never know that humans have used cellphones with many buttons as a means of communication and have never been damaged. They also did not know when our ancestors made and discovered herbal medicine, creating a culture that was inserted in it with knowledge that may not be written, but with a cultural imperative and its prohibitions, we may now only know what it means.
Humans in this day and age will only recognize and use the old ways when the technology they expect no longer works. For example, when the lights go out, they may still be able to rely on their flashlights, but when they are in the forest and their flashlight batteries run out, they will start rubbing wood to start a fire. For those who still understand the old ways, they will probably use it and be able to live under any circumstances. But for those who do not know that everyday things can be done the old way, then he will continue to rely on existing technology.
In some cases, the old way is even better than the way that utilizes the technology in it. In Indonesia, hand-made original batik or written batik is very expensive and of very good quality compared to printed batik which can be done through a computerized process and without spending a lot of time compared to traditional written batik. This proves that the quality of the old way or culture is very guaranteed, and maybe technology is very helpful, but in some ways this cannot determine quality.
The old ways of the ancestors may be underestimated and defeated by technology, and sometimes some people think technology is better than everything. We should be grateful for technological developments, but in some jobs, we still have to maintain the old ways that our ancestors did so that we can still get maximum results in these jobs. As in the case of batik, this work is entirely a culture in Indonesia and the way the ancestors used to make batik has been preserved until now. It can't be replaced by technology just to make things easy and fast, but if we want to determine quality, then doing the old way is the most appropriate.
The reason we don't want to go the old way and turn to technology is because we don't want to know who did a job we did the first time, it makes us unwilling to study history and forget our past and our ancestors. What we should do is learn how our ancestors did things and we might be able to do it more easily with the combination of technology and if technology no longer wants to cooperate with us, we still remember the lessons and ways our ancestors passed on to we can get a job done. Maybe there is some work to be done with technology so that more production can be completed and it can be completed in a relatively short time, that's fine, but in matters that require special skills, we must rely on what has been passed down by our ancestors. so that we can do it optimally and still maintain its quality.
For myself, what our ancestors did is a special and valuable teaching that is passed on to us in the future, it's just that they can't chase us like the teachers chase us. The difference in this way should not make us not appreciate and underestimate the traditional way, just because we are familiar with technology.
The reason culture is so important to be preserved, is so that we can learn from them in the past, develop what they discovered in the past, and do as they did in the past in an easier way.
Learning and the ways we use today to complete a job with a variety of technologies that we have is an extension of what our ancestors did. We only develop it, we don't create it, logically if we find everything, it is impossible for our ancestors to survive in the past and they will not be able to survive, evolve, and develop like us. Everything they have done, we only help them to make it more perfect with the knowledge we learn which comes from them too. This keeps on repeating, until our generations in the future, what we are doing now will be a guide and learning for them in the future so that humans can fully control the universe in which they live and have to move a little bit.
That's my discussion this time, hopefully it can provide inspiration for you guys, and see you in other contest posts.
