Everyone that knows me knows my obsession with mobile devices, and that I like to change phones often.
Many times I changed a phone, it wasn’t for any reason that could add some sort of value to my life or make things easier for me. It’s mostly been because I grew tired of my old device.
However, for the current phone I use, a lot of thought went into selecting it and finally going through with the purchase. A $600 purchase (at the time I made the purchase) is not a joke and requires a lot of assessment to finally hit purchase.
So no, I didn’t just buy this phone because I grew tired of the iPhone X I was using (even though that was partly why), I bought it considering the specs of the phone for a content creator(for the most part). I looked at it from a kind of a business model pov. An investment. These were some parameters my decision was based on.
The Camera
An iPhone 11 Pro Max is one of the top devices with the best cameras right now. And even though it’s not the best, the camera does a pretty decent job.
I love nature photography, and my phone has done a great job when it comes to shooting in naturally lit environments. These are a few samples of pictures I shot in the last few months. Nothing professional, but not bad for a guy walking around with no expert experience in photography.
Aside the nature photography, I take random shots of things I find fascinating in my environment so that I can use them if I’m ever writing a blog on something related to it.
I’m trying as much as I can to only use pictures I take myself in my posts. That or images I designed myself in canva.
Battery Life
The iPhone X I used before this phone presented a lot of problems, battery life being the major one that pushed me to get a new device.
I’m a student, and a content creator as well. Or should I say I was? Lol doesn’t matter. You get the point. I was out and about for the most part of the day attending lectures, and couldn’t have my charger on me at all times. So I needed a device that could handle at least 12 hours of use. Heavy use if necessary.
My iPhone X simply wasn’t delivering in this department. My current phone however, does 7 hours at worst, on really heavy and high end stuff like 24/7 connected bluetooth, wifi, data and hotspot. For 86% battery health, this is great stats.
The improved battery life was totally worth the cost of purchase, because I recall countless situations my entire operation would’ve been shutdown if I was still using my iPhone X. Operations that would’ve cost me serious money, or worse, my education.
Storage Upgrade
Another one major reason I went through with buying this phone was to upgrade my phone’s storage capacity in terms of both the RAM and the internal capacity.
The RAM contributes significantly to how fast the device is, and the internal storage, I needed more for personal reasons. I know my boys will act sus about this. Lol
Lol I’m honestly starting to regret having a 256GB internal storage though, because I save almost everything I come across. Even stuff I know I don’t need. As we sit, I have over 25,000 files in my gallery. I don’t even know how I got there. Smh
General performance- speed, network.
Aside these two important features I just explained, I think it’s pretty obvious that the over all performance of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is above average.
It is a fast phone, and one of the best things I love about it (which is actually a thing in most of the higher iPhones) is the ability of the device to keep not just one, but several apps running in the background in such a way that when you get back onto the app even after a day or days, you’re still at the exact page you left off last time and the app doesn’t refresh and take you back to the start. I’m not sure if this makes sense. I think it does to people who have used any form of a higher iPhone before.
Network reception is a lot faster and better on this device too
One of the best things I like about my phone that I don’t think people talk enough about is how it manages to provide good reception even in areas of poor network connectivity.
My best purchase of last year all time would be this device right here. The very one I wrote this post and all others from. I did myself a favor with this purchase, and I have no regrets. Thanks, man.
