Hey! I decided to talk about Stereotype in today's blog. In simple terms it's about labelling people/action. Today, I will discuss what people might think while stereotyping me, am I like this?, and most importantly, is stereotyping a bad thing? or we can use it in positive ways too?
Nationality Stereotype:
Most people I meet online often think if I am from Pakistan and they are Indian/British/Bangladeshi then I hate them. But is it true? Why someone might think this way?
It's all related to independence of Pakistan/India/East Pakistan(currently Bangladesh). We all got independence from British. I will start with my ideologies related to British people. I personally don't hate any person based on what our ancestors did, nor concerned about either it was right or wrong. If we have to go back in history then questions will be raised on "Mughal Empire" and many more. This way we will get stuck in a ping pong game of you did this and that. This loop will never end. Taking an example, Cause I don't wanna sound antinational or I wanna leave my thoughts unclear to you. So, my thoughts are; if there is a citizen in British land so what? Should I hate someone based on where they are born cause our ancestors fought? Should we also fight and have hatred for each other? I don't think so. Call me anti Pakistani or whatever. I have good relations with all people around the world and I don't hate "x" person cause "y" person killed a "z" person. It's simple common sense which can solve many conflicts, if not between governments then common people. These common people shape nations.
Moving on to Bangladeshi, Many think Pakistan is the land which was being made in the name of religion Islam. But is that all as simple as it's being told to us? Dhakka was the starting point of this separate land for performing Islamic practices and guess what! It was in Bangladesh (East Pakistan). So Is Pakistan real Pakistan or Bangladesh is real Pakistan before the name change? Does this make sense to hate each other for something this complex? I just shared a little info and it raised many questions in heads. So just focus on people with good intentions always and leave the rest.
Not all, Bangladesh got its independence from Pakistan (West Pakistan).
(I was considering our 1st independence which was West Pakistan but East and West Pakistan. Since, I wanna make things clear so editing my post.)
Moving on to India, Oh our nemesis who can forget about them sending a train of Dead bodies from India to Pakistan? Oh really, does all the people leaving in India commit murder? Even if yes (assuming just as example), then what about Mumbai terror attack (said to be by Pakistan). I am not supporting anyone in Murder of innocent people. It's my request to common man to stop playing ping pong of blame game and try to love individuals for who they are.
You might think it's not something as serious as I am presenting but the level of hatred in some people is this much that they fought with me to giving access to curation account of Pakistan to an Indian and left the server. I also didn't stopped them from leaving. Why? If a Indian is feeding nonsense to my child or Pakistani both will be same in my opinion. Nonsense is nonsense.
Because of all these historical event and many more (I just gave shortest explanation), why label me as a hater of any nation or color? Just like how black and white have labelling issues, nations also have. When next time you think of what someone's nation/ancestors did, pause for a moment and take a deep breath and ask your self "what this person did to me that he deserve my hatred?". You will be shocked about how businesses make profits and politics get votes with common man's ping pong games. Break the matrix now or forever get stuck in a loop hole.

Scenario Based Stereotype:

I just showed you one picture and you already started labelling people/actions. Did you? Just ask yourself.

Yup, this was me listening to this lecture. I was their cause I wanna know all the opinions in the world and watching "Family Guy", I do know a lot from others perspective but not from my own in depth . So, why not have a taste of it too.

I met a girl on this stall which was placed near the entrance. I asked her to write my name too with her Calligraphy skills. I got her business card and pitched her about HIVE (short but complete). I told her about how web2 can censor and ban creator, so she should also share her work in Alien Art community. (I have her business information for contacting in future)
I think my visit to this Event was worth it. More to the story is, Lecturer told us about how children are rapped in Pakistan at alarming early ages. When they go to family or friend they get rejected or taken advantage off. They also highlighted about Pakistan have kill/ban/cancel culture by "Maulvi (religious status/job)". They told us that when a person is being mistreated in early ages, rejected by family, taken advantage off by friends, then they create their own place in mind. They have mental issues trusting others. Also, lack of awareness about mental health and dealing with trauma is not common here.
The difference between desire, action and identity was also presented in depth. People think having desire to same gender is against religion as it's a narrative spread within our community but having desire is a normal thing as human nature is complex to explain (within this blog for me, so I am avoiding going in depth).
What did you learned? Anti-LGBT or LBGT? Or just focus on people who had past injures? Next time if you are religious and someone told you they are attracted to same gender then don't burn them with your holy stuff. Have a talk with them and you might learn something new.

Is Stereotyping Bad?
It all depends on what you are labelling in what way. For example you can stereotype/label waking up early as a good habit. Same with eating healthy food or smoking being bad for health. When our brain labels things, it's not always bad. Labelling help us take important decisions in life or building good habits quickly and easily. So, next time when you label a person or action, remember that labelling not bad or good. It's about what you are labelling and how!
