Teamwork is essential to accomplish great things. Since the dawn of civilization, incredible works have been built through teamwork. The Egyptian Pyramids, the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum in Rome, among others.
A single person can do something incredible, but when several people work as a team, the result can be achieved more quickly and better. However, it's not easy to work as a team, because we all think differently, which is why the figure of the leader needs to come into play to guide everyone in a team in a single direction.
As a child or teenager, teamwork becomes more evident at school. Teachers teach group work, so that children learn to relate to each other and learn to work as a group. A student can be very intelligent and perform individual tasks exceptionally well, but that same student can be bad when it comes to doing a group task.
When I was at school, I was a very shy boy and I hated it when teachers gave me group work. There were two reasons for this: firstly, I was always the last choice in the class and ended up with students who generally didn't like studying; secondly, I ended up doing most of the work on my own. Often I would talk to the teachers about doing the work on my own, but most of the time I was forced to work with people I had no interest in.
I did the work with the utmost commitment and dedication, while my colleagues didn't bother to do their bit. In teamwork, everyone has to be clear about their roles so that the work can be carried out in the best possible way.
However, there have been group projects in which everyone took part and did their part. I remember one time we did a play "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", an adaptation of the children's book, and it went very well, even with a team of more than ten members. Everyone took part and was committed to making the work happen.
Group work at school is preparation for the real world. In corporate life, companies value teamwork because it can increase a company's turnover. However, the opposite is also true: if the team isn't aligned with the same goals, the result can be catastrophic and even lead to a business going bankrupt.
My wife owns a small atelier. She works with my mother-in-law making clothes to measure. There was a period when the demand for orders increased, so she was forced to hire another seamstress. In the first week, the task was to make more than thirty uniforms, and the work was divided between my mother-in-law, who cut all the uniforms, and my wife and the new employee.
This new employee took several pieces to make at home, but the way she worked was not as expected. So when the order was finalized and delivered to the buyer, the quality of the garments made by the new employee was poor. This had a negative impact on my wife's Atelier.
This new employee still worked for my wife for a few months, but the way she worked ended up alienating several customers. This led to her dismissal, because demand at the Atelier had fallen thanks to the work of this new employee.

Um única pessoas pode fazer algo incrível, mas quando várias pessoas trabalham em equipe o resultado pode ser obtido de forma mais rápida e superior. Porém, não é facil trabalhar em equipe, pois todos nós pensamos de forma diferente, por isso é preciso que a figura do lider entre em ação para guiar todos os integrante de uma equipe em uma única direção.
Quando criança ou adolescente o trabalho em equipe começa a fica mais evidente na escola. Os professores passam trabalho em grupo, para que as crianças aprenda a se relacionam umas com a outra e aprendam a trabalhar em grupo. Um aluno pode ser muito inteligente e realizar tarefas individuais de forma excepcional, porém esse mesmo aluno pode ser ruim quando o assunto é fazer alguma tarefa em grupo.
No tempo da escola eu era um menino bastante tímido e odiava quando os professores passava trabalho em grupo. Por dois motivos: o primeiro é que eu sempre ficava como última opção pela turma e acabava ficando com alunos que geralmente não gostavam de estudar; o segundo motivo é que em muitos trabalhos eu acabava fazendo grande parte do trabalho sozinho. Muitas das vezes eu falava com os professores para fazer o trabalho sozinho, mas na maioria das ocasiões era forçado a trabalhar com que não tinha interesse.
Eu fazia o trabalho com o maior empenho e dedicação, enquanto meus colegas não se preocupavam em fazer sua parte. Em um trabalho em equipe todos têm que saber claramente quais são os seus papeis, a fim de que o trabalho possa ser executado da melhor forma possível.
Porém, houveram trabalhos em grupos que todos os integrantes participaram, em que cada um fez a sua parte. Lembro uma vez que fizemos uma peça de teatro da "Branca de Neve e os Sete Anões" foi uma adaptação do livro infantil e deu muito certo, mesmo com equipe de mais de dez integrantes. Pois, todo mundo participou e todos estavam engajado em fazer o trabalho acontecer.
Os trabalhos em grupo na escola são uma preparação para o mundo real. Na vida corporativa as empresas valorizam o trabalho em equipe, pois ele pode fazer com que uma empresa possa aumentar seu faturamento. Porém, o contrário também é verdadeiro se a equipe não estiver alinhada com os mesmo objetivos o resultado pode ser catastrófico podendo inclusive leva um negócio a falência.
Minha esposa possui um pequeno Ateliê, ela trabalha em conjunto com minha sogra confeccionando roupas sobre medidas. Houve um periodo em que a demanda de pedidos aumentou, então ela foi forçada a contratar mais uma costureira. Na primeira semana a tarefa era fazer mais de trinta fardamento, os trabalhos foram divididos minha sogra fez o corte de todos os fardamentos e minha esposa e nova funcionária dividiriam as costuras.
Essa nova funcionária levou várias peças para fazer em casa, mas a forma como trabalhava não era como esperado. Dessa forma, quando o pedido foi finalizado e entregue ao comprador a qualidade das peças feitas pela nova funcionária era ruim. E isso marcou negativamente o Ateliê da minha esposa.
Essa nova funcionaria ainda ficou alguns meses trabalhando para minha esposa, porém a forma com ela trabalhava acabou afastando vários clientes. O que acarretou em sua demissão, pois a demanda no Ateliê havia caido graças ao trabalho dessa nova funcionária.
O trabalho em equipe pode alavancar uma empresa, como também pode arruiná-lo. E você já teve alguma situação parecida que algum colega de trabalho gerou resultados negativo com a equipe?
