Human beings are incredible, mainly because no one is the same as another. What distinguishes us are our strengths and weaknesses, our virtues and defects. If we were all the same, the world would be a dull and boring place. Imagine a world where everyone was equally talented or equally flawed! Diversity is what makes our environment so rich and interesting.
These differences in abilities and weaknesses are what make professionals in the same field stand out. A skilled surgeon or a talented musician will stand out from the rest in their respective fields. It is this variety of talents and characteristics that enriches the world and promotes a veritable tapestry of skills and personalities.
However, there is no such thing as perfection. Even an exceptional surgeon or musician has their weaknesses. While some find it easy to identify their areas for improvement, others may be more adept at recognizing their strengths, as the ego of feeling superior to others leaves people blind.
Personally, I find it easier to identify my weaknesses, perhaps because they stand out more than my qualities, in my perception. One of the main challenges I face is a lack of consistency. I often start something with great enthusiasm but, over time, end up abandoning it halfway through. For example, a while ago, I regularly took part in the weekly challenges at Hive Learners. Eventually, however, I got discouraged and stopped posting in the community.
Another similar situation occurs when I prepare to study for a public examination. At first, I feel an intense enthusiasm for studying, but as the days go by, this enthusiasm wanes.
During my degree, there were times when I thought about giving up some subjects just because I got a low grade in the first unit. I ended up abandoning these subjects, thinking they were difficult and that I wouldn't pass at the time, and later regretted it because my colleagues who persevered were approved.
In the past, my focus was on avoiding facing challenges, believing that I needed to be fully prepared before attempting anything. However, I've learned that preparation has to happen along the way. No one is 100% prepared for anything and tomorrow is uncertain.
This flaw, the lack of consistency, has undoubtedly caused me to miss out on many opportunities throughout my life. Of course I have other weaknesses, such as difficulty communicating and fear of public speaking, but lack of consistency is undoubtedly one of my biggest weaknesses.
To overcome this weakness, I've been working on setting smaller, more achievable goals. For big problems, I try to break them down into smaller parts and avoid accumulating tasks. In addition, I'm developing a more focused and persistent mindset, even when the going gets tough. I believe that the first step to overcoming a weakness is recognizing it and being willing to improve, just like an addiction.
Those who know me may find it difficult to identify my weaknesses, as my qualities tend to outweigh my faults in the eyes of the people who know me. However, my wife is an exception - she notices and complains a lot about my shortcomings. In fact, she only seems to see my weaknesses, hehehe.

O ser humano é incrível, principalmente porque ninguém é igual ao outro. O que nos distingue são nossos pontos fortes e fracos, nossas virtudes e defeitos. Se todos fôssemos iguais, o mundo seria um lugar monótono e sem graça. Imagine um mundo onde todos fossem igualmente talentosos ou igualmente falhos! A diversidade é o que torna nosso ambiente tão rico e interessante.
Essas diferenças nas habilidades e nas fraquezas são o que fazem com que profissionais em uma mesma área se destaquem. Um médico cirurgião habilidoso ou um músico talentoso se sobressairão entre os demais em suas respectivas áreas. É essa variedade de talentos e características que enriquece o mundo e promove uma verdadeira tapeçaria de habilidades e personalidades.
No entanto, não existe perfeição. Mesmo um médico cirurgião ou um músico excepcional tem suas fraquezas. Enquanto alguns têm facilidade em identificar suas áreas de melhoria, outros podem ser mais aptos a reconhecer seus pontos fortes, pois o ego de se sentir superior as demais pessoas deixa as pessoas cegas.
Pessoalmente, encontro mais facilidade em identificar minhas fraquezas, talvez porque elas se destacam mais do que minhas qualidades, na minha percepção. Um dos principais desafios que enfrento é a falta de consistência. Muitas vezes, começo algo com grande entusiasmo, mas, com o tempo, acabo abandonando no meio do caminho. Por exemplo, há um tempo, eu participava regularmente dos desafios semanais na Hive Learners. No entanto, eventualmente, o desânimo me acometeu e eu parei de postar na comunidade.
Outra situação similar ocorre quando me preparo para estudar para um concurso público. No início, sinto uma animação intensa para estudar, mas com o passar dos dias, esse entusiasmo diminui.
Durante minha graduação, houve ocasiões em que pensei em desistir de algumas disciplinas apenas porque tirei uma nota baixa na primeira unidade. Acabei abandonando essas matérias, achando-as difíceis e que não iria passar naquele momento, e depois me arrependi, pois os colegas que perseveraram foram aprovados.
No passado, meu foco estava em evitar enfrentar desafios, acreditando que precisava estar completamente preparado antes de tentar algo. No entanto, aprendi que a preparação deve ocorrer ao longo do caminho. Ninguém esta 100% preparado para algo e o amanhã é incerto.
Esse defeito, a falta de consistência, sem dúvida, me fez perder muitas oportunidades ao longo da vida. É claro que tenho outras fraquezas, como a dificuldade em me comunicar e o medo de falar em público, mas a falta de constância é, sem dúvida, uma das minhas maiores fraquezas.
Para superar essa fraqueza, tenho trabalhado em estabelecer metas menores e mais alcançáveis. Para problemas grandes, tento dividi-los em partes menores e evitar acumular tarefas. Além disso, estou desenvolvendo uma mentalidade mais focada e persistente, mesmo quando as coisas ficam difíceis. Acredito que o primeiro passo para superar uma fraqueza é reconhecê-la e estar disposto a melhorar, assim como um vício.
Quem me conhece pode achar difícil identificar minhas fraquezas, pois minhas qualidades tendem a se sobrepor aos defeitos, aos olhos das pessoas que me conhecem. No entanto, minha esposa é uma exceção – ela percebe e reclama muito das minhas falhas. Na realidade, ela parece enxergar somente minhas fraquezas, hehehe.
