The year 2014 is a year I won't forget so soon because of the terrible scene that happened to me where I was seriously injured that I almost lost my left hand while working in a factory as a factory worker.
If I always remember that day am always grateful I didn't lose my hand due to the terrible scene that occured. The company I worked happens to be where packaging resources are been made examples like cartons where products can be kept inside and I was opportuned to be one of the operators.
I have my own machine I operate in the company and the packaging resources I make is that of bathing soap pack, toothpaste pack and others related to it as well while other operators that are close to me work on the bigger packages like noodles carton and the likes.
The day that incident occured I wasn't having much work to do on my machine so I had to work with my colleagues that operates on the bigger cartons so I was asked to join them to make the work faster in other to supply the order in time.
My machine is quite different from theirs because the machine they operate on have bigger rollers that drags the carton to fold itself so i was just been careful to work there but still ended up sustaining an injury.
The person I worked with was tired to fold the cartons with the machine so we had to switch because my own work was to count the cartons and wrap it. So my colleague should me how to do it and I follow the steps been showed to me to continue the work.
The horrible scene then occured when I tried to work on a particular carton and the roller isn't dragging the carton to fold so my intention was to remove the carton then put it again but unfortunately for me when i was trying to remove the carton the machine then drag both my hand and the carton together inside the machine that I suffered a serious injury where i almost lost my hand with serious cuts I suffered from the horrible scene but I was lucky it didn't affect my bone but I almost lost my fingers in the scene where it all look like it is going to fall off but am grateful it didn't because they have to stitch it.
I spent months in the hospital just to recover from incident and today am grateful the hand is still in good condition which am happy about.
