We all know how far the world has come with regards to reading, you don't have to be hurling books all over the place anymore. You can carry your library around in your pocket. So which do you prefer? Reading from your phone or reading from a traditional book? State your reasons.
As someone that really enjoys reading(not academic books o😅, those ones are read out of necessity), this topic is one that I can relate to very well.
Well, both the library in the pocket and the physical library both have their pros and cons. Ideally, my favorite is the physical library. I like to have my hands on the book I'm reading. It just makes it feel much more personal for me. I can underline, make notes by the side, fold pages to mark where I'm at in the book, and it also makes it easy to flip through the pages and take in the information for someone like me that has a somewhat photographic memory.
However, one major advantage that soft copies have over hard copies is that they literally weigh nothing. They are just software in a phone. This makes it easy for them to be carried anywhere and to be available anywhere as opposed to hard copies that might not be easy to carry around because they can weigh a lot especially if the books are multiple or if they are being carried over a long distance.
Another issue is cost. Hard copies of books could cost a lot, whereas the soft copies mostly cost nothing as they can be downloaded with just a few megabytes of data. This way, one can get a very large amount of books for a relatively negligent amount, compared to buying them.
In conclusion, I generally prefer hard copy books and materials, however, due to issues with cost and the ability to carry books around, I currently have more books in soft copy than in hard copy.
