Life is a journey, everyday we are on the road to becoming better personalities. It is so sad that no matter how good one is, if you check their lives closely you would discover some loopholes still hanging around somewhere. And even if it's not obvious enough to others, it will always be crystal clear to the person.
This why the saying "no one is perfect" affects everyone in the world, life is too large, and you can't perfect it all in a day, in fact even our lifetime on earth is not enough to make us perfect. it's a very distant journey. The moment you finish perfecting one aspect, you will discover, that there has been another one there all these while waiting for you. however, within the short period of time we have to live, we will keep striving towards perfection.
It amazes me anytime I see people condemning others, if you should check their lives, you would be shocked. If only we knew how frail and lacking we are as humans, we would always look for a way to correct each other in love so that we can overcome our weaknesses and become better persons rather than pulling ourselves down.
Life is funny, the area you are struggling with is what someone has already overcome and what someone has a headache facing, Could be something that you don't see as a challenge at all. If we should come together through understanding, you will discover that all those loopholes will be covered. What I mean is this, if you have the letter A and I have the letter B, if we merge it, the gap will be filled, along the way I'll learn how to get A and you will also learn how to get B, thus, making us complete.
I have so many things I wish to do away with from my life. And if only wishes were horses, I would quickly outline all of them so that the wind can just carry them away. But I came to understand that challenges are not there to kill us but to build us provided we are willing to pay the price to fight them out.
One of the things I wish to do away with from my life this year is Procrastination. I am someone who whenever I give myself to do something, must achieve it. I mean giving up is not an option for me most times.
I am not good at anything at all in life but I still see myself coming forth among those winning, is that luck? No, well sometimes, it might be but the truth is, it's my inability to give up that has always been helping me. I can spend a year, learning one thing, I am willing to fail a thousand times until I get it right.
As beautiful as that quality is, I have a very big issue, I procrastinate a lot. I know this is what I ought to do right now but I'll be like I'll do it later, from later, it will be tomorrow. And before you know it, it's a month and I haven't done anything about it. If you should see my note, I have a lot of things outlined to pursue but I haven't gotten any of them yet.
Only God knows how many opportunities I have missed because of this attitude. One time I was to apply for a job, and I was so sure I was getting it. My uncle kept calling to ensure I did it, but I always told him I'd do it tomorrow until the time came and passed without me applying. All my uncle's candidates got the job. He was so mad at me, if only I was a child, I wonder the kind of beating I would have gotten from him. All the busyness I was hiding under, when I checked it very it, I was never busy at all, then what kept me from applying? Only God knows.
I have a lot of online courses I bought, and I have not yet started taking action on them, I kept giving myself excuses and they are still there to date. These are only but a few instances. Procrastination is a killer, and if only I can overcome this, I know how productive my life is going to be.
How Do I Plan To Let It Go?
If I tell you that I have not fought this battle before I am a liar. But I am not giving up, I am going to be more deliberate this time around, I will re-strategies and launch another attack.
Firstly, I think I will have to take the issue of timing very seriously, I'll have my activities scheduled for different times. Each activity has its own time. I will have something like a timetable and also an alarm to serve as a reminder. And I'll train myself to be disciplined with keeping to that time.
Secondly, I will always do every activity I have as soon as the time arrives. I will do my best never to shift any activity to another time. I'll apply the principle of "hit the iron while it is hot." Anytime a task comes, I'll do it right there.
Thirdly, I'll set some punishments and also rewards to help keep me in order. If I break any of those rules, I'll either not eat for certain hours, or cut every means of entertainment for a day. But any day I keep the rule, I will reward myself with something I love so much.
Finally, I'll commit everything to God through prayers, because I know my strength will not achieve all these, I told you I have fought this battle before. With God helping me, I'll give it my best shot this time.
