My Profession Will Still Be Relevant Amidst Artificial Intelligence (AI)
The advancement in technology was never aimed at depriving man kind privileges, rather it is to make things better and more comfortable for man.
However, humans are complicated creatures, the little advantage they get over a thing, they try to misuse it. Artificial intelligence is a very wonderful project and I appreciate it's coming forth. A lot has been achieved by its presence, talk about increase in productivity and many others which reliefs man from a lot of work load nevertheless it also pose a threat to those whose places it's replacing.
If artificial intelligence should take over the labour market, a lot of people would suffer, left to me, I will call it a set back for many individuals. Nevertheless, it is not a dead end. It's not in everything that machines can replace man. I will give you an example, take for instance roofing of houses, I don't know if there are machines doing that already but I have never heard or come across such.
Like I said earlier on, there are many people that will have to start life afresh if Artificial Intelligence takes over the labour market but it can also be for our good because it will spur us to explore and look for other means to survive. It will as well make us develop other skills that machines can't replace us with.
No doubt with the way things are going on now, I am very certain that someday, the need for labour from man will be irrelevant. It will be so unfortunate for anyone who only depends on the government and private sectors for jobs
I believe that even if Artificial Intelligence takes over the labour market those who are self reliant, independent, self employed, I mean the entrepreneurs will not be affected. For those who are self employed online, it's going to be a bad luck for because I am sure they will be the first to loose their jobs.
Having skill in the physical world is also very important as much as we have online. For me, if artificial intelligence takes over the labour market today, my services will still be needed.
I am a teacher by profession, no matter how much good learning online is, a practical learning is far better. I don't think a time will ever come when teachers will be discarded. Come to think of it even if they say there is no need for physical teachers, those who would do the teaching online, won't they be humans?
During the COVID-19 pandemic, physical teaching was shut down completely, later some countries commenced online teaching and it was human being that were doing the teaching not robots. Because of how crucial the services of teachers are, physical classes commenced after the pandemic was over. If AI could replace teachers, that would have been the end for them.
What I am trying to say here is artificial intelligence can't replace teachers at all. No matter how much it is brought in the the profession, it can never eliminate the services of the teacher completely. It may only need the teachers to learn computer skills upon their teaching skill and that's all.
Learning is something that is easily assimilated practically and of course we know that teacher to student relationship is very vital in the process of learning, which artificial intelligence do have the ability to offer. I don't think machines have the ability to replace man in showing love and care yet, maybe they will subsequently but it for now, there is no such thing.
The best Artificial Intelligence can do in teaching profession is teach and that's all. Unfortunately the job of a teacher is like that of a parent. So if artificial intelligence can take the palce of our parents then it can equally take the place of a teacher.
Apart from teaching, i still have idea on tailoring, i just have to go back to the shop and refresh my head for like four months and i will be back fully.
From there , i can start my own business, get a sewing machine and continue with life.
