When it has to do with academic performance, although the teacher has a role to play in ensuring such every child attain excellence, but the responsibility to achieving that is not solemnly dependant on the teacher alone. To achieve success both the student and teacher has a role to play of which it is a fifty, fifty stuff.
Specifically, the role of a teacher is to impact knowledge by exposing students to hidden treasures in books. After the work of the teacher is done it is now time for the wards to ask questions where he or she lacks adequate understanding after which ensure to study so it stick with them. But you see some children, you need to use force on them to either read their books or ask questions even when they don't understand a thing and unfortunately, teachers alone takes the blame when a child refuses to learn. Coming from someone that has taught before, I can clearly say some kids are a handful on their own like you just keep teaching and teaching them over again yet can't get it right I mean this was one thing that made teaching so stressful for me.
There was this child of ten in my class and it seemed to me she has a phobia for books because when it's break time or free periods she plays like there is no tomorrow but as soon as classes starts she becomes so pitiful and behaves like she's sick. After my experience I learned to respect teachers and stop blaming them when two or three in their classes aren't doing well.....like if fifteen of the kids are good in class while three are performing poorly then it has absolutely nothing to do with the teacher rather that child has to seat up.
In as much I would want to defend teachers all through, I rather would want to also say some teachers are not effectively playing their roles as should be. I can clearly relate to this when I was in highschool, we had this teacher who I think isn't qualified to be a teacher although a graduate. It is always difficult for him to vividly explain each note he gave to us and then whenever a question is thrown at him during class it automatically turns into an assignment for us. It got to the point we never want to ask questions cause of the outcome and when it's time for continuous assessment test is from one failure to the other. We no longer get scared of failing his subjects again I mean it turned to something normal till the school had to find a replacement. So whene a child performs poorly in his or her academics, it is either the fault of the child or the teacher.
