I will be sharing with us on the ongoing weekly contest #hl-w15e3 which is "MY GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT"
My greatest achievement is becoming a graduate, a graduate of Geology.
I remembered when I gained admission and I went for my documentation, the set of people I met was so discouraging, and really makes me think twice then.
When I am done with the registration and I entered hall for lecturer for the first time I met some of my senior colleagues and they were like asking me which department are you, then I replied that I am in geology department, they shouted and echo geology, then the spirit of fear came and I was thinking that this one everybody is shouting geology what is the problem with this course.
The next day I met the departmental president to pay my departmental dues and he asked me you are in Geology and I said Yes, he said you better go and collect another jamb or go and change your course right now, I was so confused and I said if others are offering this course I will surely do as well.
The guy told me that geology is not meant for a lady and the way he is seeing me I look like a butty girl, I told him if you know what I have been through in my life, you will know I can survive all things.
The first departmental lecture I received from one of my lecturer that day makes me know that truly this geology is not a child's play, though is not that geology is a hard course but the lectures we met are very tough and wicked, so that makes the department hard generally.
I remembered our first year, the students in attendance was about 140 students but in our second year we are 100, statically in 300 level we are 38 and finally 9 of us graduated from the department. This has been a great achievement for me because I survived the department and with the help of God I strive had and yield a great result.
This has really been a great achievement to me because I have promise my mum that I will never let her down and I will concentrate on my studies, which I did and brought the good news for her, she was happy when I told her I will be writing my last paper in the school and I am one of the best student in my department.
I thank God for everything, it is not my power, some of my mate left the school when they can not cope with the course, and some change department to geography, computer science and so on while some quit school because of the stress and victimization of our lecturers then, this is a department that you write exams like Cambridge, thank you Lord for where I am today. This is a great achievement for me and my family.
