I welcome you all to another episode of the newbies initiative, today I will be writing about task 4 and my lovely partner for this week is @debby-cwm the meeting started at exactly 8 pm on Sunday, anchored by @starstrings01 and Our tutor for the day is @moremoney28
Here are a few of the questions we need to respond to see if we truly understood what we were taught.
How do you distinguish tags from tokens? What are the similarities and differences as well as the types involved?
TAGS
The topics box we see at the end of our posts is where we input our tags, it is a label that we always attach to our posts. It is used in Creating accessibility for what we publish on Hive and always makes it easier for authors to have their content discovered and also makes it simple for curators to select their preferred content for curation.
While
TOKENS
The token is a coin given to the authors by the community they use their tag, these tokens are mostly made by communities, and posting in their community will earn you their tokens. In the Neoxian community, for instance, publishing inside the community or using their tag in your post enables you to receive the Neoxag token as a reward.
The similarity between token and tag is that they both function together; you can earn token rewards by utilizing tags, and the community rewards your post by giving it a token when you use their tag.
Select at least two random community tribes of your choice, explore their frontend, and give us a review of what you think after going through your profile and feed.
MY FAVORITE COMMUNITY TRIBE
As a new user on Hive Blockchain, I found PeakD to be the most user-friendly frontend. It is really clear and easy to comprehend when it comes to upvoting, reblogging, and engaging. One of the features I love most about PeakD is the AI reader, it allows you to read posts written by other authors easily without stress. I have been using PeakD as my favorite frontend and it has been working perfectly for me, PeakD was one if not the best and I have been enjoying it since I joined Hive and I haven't had any issues with it.
Inleo, formerly known as Leofinance, is another community tribe that I adore. I also frequently use this community frontend because it is so beautiful and simple to use, with nice features that are exclusively accessible to premium members.
What are tipping tokens? Give two examples and abuses of the service.
TIPPING TOKENS
To my understanding, a tipping coin is a coin that we gift other authors, maybe we love their content or we are inspired by their content then we can decide to show love to them by sending them token, it is a gift and you can send it by using the command ! at the front of the token you are sending.
Examples of tipping tokens are
Luv token
Pizza token
Beer token
And we can send it by sending !luv to the author we are gifting
Buy and sell a tribe token or any Hive Engine token of your choice. Show the process you took to make this transaction with the necessary screenshots.
HOW TO BUY TOKEN
One of the major important things to do when buying tokens is swapping, you must swap for your hive before you can proceed in purchasing any coin of your choice, there are so many exchange websites where we can buy tokens on Hive, the one I love to use is the Leodex exchange.
Step 1: log into the website Leodex.io and log in with your username on Hive but the first login requires your active key it will log you in directly to the site
Step 2: When you are logged into the website, it will show your account name
Step 3: Click on deposit, this is where you can deposit and swap your hive to purchase the coin of your choice without this step, buying of token is impossible
Step 4: Click on market and input the coin you wish to purchase, as for me I used the CENT token
Step 5: Scroll down to the space where you can input the price and the desired amount of the coin to be bought. It will automatically show you how many Hive you will need to obtain that particular coin.
The same process goes for selling coins too just that where to input them is different
