First of all, this post is dedicated to those of us that aren't getting upvotes in our planned posts. Don't quit!
Just last night I stumbled on a beautiful poem
called Don't Quit. One of the lines says, "stick to the
fight when you're hardest hit" meaning it's when things seem
worst that you mustn't quit." remember that it gets dawn after the darkest hour.
Lamenting about your conditions worsening will actually worsen things yet if only we can understand that it's usually
at this point of misery and uncertainties that our greatest growth can occur only if we'll
see the moment as a growth opportunity.
These days my hive don't get much upvotes and it mitigates my zeal and passion for writing to those thirty souls who may get touched by my post and move on boldly with their lives yet If I see it as a time to learn how to control my thoughts, prove to myself that am not doing this for the money but the passion.
So about the poem by an anonymous
author goes like this:
When things go wrong as they sometimes will.
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about.
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man.
Often the straggler has given up.
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
I came across this story of two brothers who probably were twins. One grows up to be an alcoholic
while the other becomes an extremely successful
businessman. So whenever the drunk is asked why he
became a drunk, he replies, "My father was a drunk."
while Whenever the successful businessman is asked why he
became this successful, he says, "My father was a drunk."
Now you understand the power of perception. They both grew from the same background, had same upbringing yet saw life differently hence took very different
choices."
What do you think happened? They had different perception about the same situation, these brothers chose different thoughts about the same experience and those thoughts over the years
shaped the circumstances they now find themselves.
I recall when I used to have this ill sucking Perception of the challenges and obstacles in my life as nothing but "bad luck" and believe me, I had my own fair share of such perception just as Bob Proctor says "you're either living in the problem or you're living in the solution."
So these days whenever I'm confronted with what I used to think was a
negative situation, I use a different thought process.
I accept the situation with a deep calm breath then force myself to replace those negative thoughts that
creep in with positive thoughts about solutions to my self acclaimed problem."
Honestly, these days I see myself learning from the
situation at hand in a way that would broaden my decision making instincts and inner peace.
i promise you it's only occasionally now that i do give room for anxiety and as I learn and grow I hope to completely groom myself into my God self where worry and anxiety doesn't find me.
After writing this post it dawned on me that it's never about the upvotes here in hive block chain but about the community and how we grow it.
