Hi great hivers,
I thank God for the privilege to round up the week with this outstanding topic. Those of us consistently writing kudos and all the managing team I really acknowledge your sacrifices.
It's a beautiful morning here with Christmas aroma scenting everywhere. Wow it's Christmas Eve today and everywhere seems to be painted and coloured green, red, white alongside disco lights which depict that Christmas is here.
In as much as Christmas celebration is fantastic so also is some indelible memory that accompanies it. Christmas is normally characterised by some events which to some of us is an unforgettable experience over the years and even in the years to come.
There were lots of things that I can easily forget about Christmas but this one really stood out for me that I never ceased sharing it. When growing up, the passion for Christmas was very high not like what I'm seeing amongst youths these days which has become a mere routine.
Hmmm Christmas celebration can't be complete without my parents buying me new set of clothes, shoes, etc that I will cruise within the cause of celebration. At times as if we would declare a state of emergency to the issue of what to wear and '' no new clothes no going out"
Immediately after church service, you would see us moving from one place to another appealing to people to support us and bless us though sometimes not from the bottom of their heart but because of our persuasion they wouldn't have any option rather than to give something.
I can't forget this...
One of the memorable thing about Christmas was what happened this day after the service, I picked a friend and we starting moving from one place to another, from one family house to the other. In the afternoon, after a long trek we landed a family behold a sumptuous meal was served.
It was rice and stew covered in a beautiful dish. We took out time to pray and thank God for such provision owing to the fact that we trekked a distance so there's thirsty, hunger all over.
Remember in those days when such kind of food was served, you don't just start eating rather you pick the meat and keep it on the cover of the plate so that when you're done eating you eat the meat at last.
Ha, we opened the dish and saw big heavy lump of rice sandwich with the stew. We all thought it was a special meat, we removed and kept it aside until we finished eating the food. Can you guess what happened?
My friend picked his spoon and touched the so-called meat on the cover of the dish with the back side of the spoon systematically while myself joined suit suddenly it breaks and it was a lump of rice that the stew covered or moulded it like a meat. All of us boosted into serious laughter uncontrollably. Hahahahhaa this became so imprint in my brain that can't be forgotten easily. What a Christmas meat for us.
Don't always expect what is served before you contains meat and make sure you don't always eat meat at last turn the entire food first, verify whether there's meat or not. Don't always be expectant of something. Not all that glitters is gold and not all covered lump with stew is meat.
Hope you had a wonderful and amazing memory too.
Compliments of the season.
