A couple of days ago I saw a tutorial post explaining to new members of the platform how the communities work.

Tutorials are not my thing to tell the truth I don't even like to read them, but I decided to write this because I have made the mistakes (just for not knowing) and now I don't know if there is a way to fix them so I would like that new members don't make these important mistakes.

I would like to write about something that I still have problems with when publishing and they are the Tags, I know that many of us have this confusion and a wrong concept about it.

Tags have a specific function, so they must be chosen very wisely and very carefully!

They must be related to the topic of your post but you can also use general Community Tags.

How so ?

Well let's say you have a travel post and you don't know which Tag to use, here you can easily use travel or travel, followed by the name of the country and the city, for example, plaza or park if you are writing about a visit to some plaza or park and photography, since you will most likely post photos as well.

These are just some suggestions.

I should mention that the first tag will always be the tag of the community you are posting in and that will be done automatically, after uploading a post your tags can be edited, however the first one can never be edited.

So those who post by mistake, usually go ahead and delete the post and repost it in the desired community.

Don't do that, if you repost your content will be considered abuse like spam and plagiarism!

So better leave it still where it is and just be more careful next time.

Remember you can't delete anything from the blockchain, there are ways to verify edit history so there is no point in deleting content from your blog.

Tags can be edited after posting, you can add more to it or you can delete them as you like, but I repeat, what's the point? If you are using general community tags you are already getting automatic votes and once the automatic votes are in, you can't get any community tokens by adding new tags afterwards, unless someone votes after editing which is very unlikely.

I too have edited my posts, I have deleted tags after the community moderators notify me that my topic does not fit the community and this does not make any changes.

Deleting the wrong Tag does not remove the post from the community; and besides, with the edit history available anyone can verify if you deleted or changed anything in your post.

Another thing apart from the tags, since there are communities that allow the use of external sources NEVER use content from another person either from Google, Facebook Twitter or Instagram without mentioning where you got this information from, I explain; a few months ago I made a post that dealt with the economy in Venezuela, obviously all the information I needed to collect from somewhere so I resorted to Google where I copied and pasted important information and after a few minutes my last five posts including this one had downvotes or Downvote, what does this mean? That in the community where I published quickly detected the plagiarism of content because I did not mention anywhere where I got this information and they sent me the downvote of almost the entire community, not only to this publication but 4 more so I had to go to discord and explain what happened to remove their downvotes of my publications, I was lucky that it worked and they understood me but in other cases this can lead you to the total routine as it would be to be in blacklist, something that maybe I will explain later because for now we continue with the topic of the tags.

Tags Abuse.

This is the most common thing to do incorrectly.

Those who do not know and are new to the blockchain usually choose tags according to our interests and the tokens in the communities that have a certain value will always seem attractive to us and we will go directly to use that Tag, it seems like a good idea but in reality It IS NOT.

Your publication can appear in those communities without having anything to do with the topic of the same so think before you do it, remember that plagiarism and spam are things you should beware of.
Every dapp has a section dedicated to tags and only ten tags are allowed, if the dapp allows more I advise you to limit yourself to 10, I am sure 10 is enough to describe what is in your post.

Many of us have chosen at some point to write tags within the post, whether it be for a contest an event a mention etc.... But there have also been cases where users put the hashtag TAGS and then put an unlimited list of tags, logically this is an abuse and you can face the consequences.

The most common nowadays is to use groups of curators as tags.

For example;

OCD
OCDB
Appreciator
GEMS
Curangel
Rocky

Who knows how many other curators there are, the thing is that new users believe ( I was one ) that this will help the publication to be selected for curation and friend we are wrong.

Every curation group has their rules, but curation based on Tags or Labels is not among the rules, trust me.
**This can easily lead you to failure, as using so many irrelevant tags can be a red flag and using these tags is not only useless, but also a wasted opportunity for your post to be discovered by users who might have been interested in reading it.

You know, if you see a friend doing this, let them know that it's useless to go by the tags related to the topic of their post and that's it.

Tags.

When I say tagging , I mean the use of tags and in Hive this means that you are using someone's username either to notify the user, mention them in appreciation that maybe you are with that user somewhere or whatever.

For example if I type in my post @fonestreet (my user), I will get a notification that you tagged me.

This is a cool feature isn't it?

You can mention your friends and know that they get notifications, but unfortunately like many of the good things, you have to use it with caution and avoid abusing it.

Tag only those you know and are aware that they won't be upset with you.

There have been many cases, in which out of ignorance they have abused the function and others have intentionally tagged a large number of people to get their attention.

I read that the maximum has been 8k tags, can you imagine tagging eight thousand people?

This is considered spam and can get you blacklisted immediately.

The most common is when you want to thank people, curators, witnesses, developers and tag them massively, try not to do it as it can be contradictory very easily.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that every time you edit your post, the people you tagged in it will receive a notification that you have tagged them, so edit with caution.

I'm sure you were expecting a list of tags you should use but no, keep focused on describing yourself the publication and take one or two strict tags from the community you are publishing in, this is all for now and I hope you find the information helpful, but if I find a way to share with you a list of the most common tags, I will do it.

Hace un par de días ví una publicación tutorial explicando a los nuevos miembros de la plataforma cómo funcionan las comunidades.

Los tutoriales no son lo mío a decir verdad ni siquiera me gusta leerlos, pero me decidí a redactar ésto ya que he cometido los errores (simplemente por no saber) y ahora no sé si haya una forma de enmendarlos por lo que quisiera que nuevos integrantes no cometan estás fallas tan importantes.

Me gustaría escribir sobre algo con lo que sigo teniendo problemas a la hora de publicar y son los Tags, se que muchos tenemos ésta confusión y un concepto erróneo al respecto.

Tags;

Los tags tienen una función específica, así que deben elegirse con mucha prudencia y mucho cuidado!

Deben estar relacionados con el tema de tu publicación pero también se pueden usar Tags de Comunidades generales.

¿Cómo así ?

Bueno supongamos que tienes una publicación de viajes y no sabes qué Tag utilizar, aquí fácilmente puedes usar viajes o travel, seguido del nombre del país y la ciudad, por ejemplo, plaza o park si está escribiendo sobre una visita a alguna plaza o parque y fotografía, ya que lo más probable es que también publiques fotos.

Éstas solamente son algunas sugerencias.

Debo mencionar que el primer Tag siempre será el de la comunidad en la que estás publicando y eso se hará de forma automatica, luego de subir una publicación tus tags pueden ser editados, sin embargo el primero nunca se podra editar.

Así que aquellos que publican por error, normalmente van eliminan la publicación y la vuelven a publicar en la comunidad deseada.

¡No hagas eso, que si vuelves a publicarlo tu contenido se considerara abuso como lo son el spam y el plagio!

Así que mejor déjalo quieto ahí donde está y simplemente ten más cuidado la próxima vez.

Recuerda que no puedes eliminar nada de la blockchain, hay maneras de verificar el historial de edición así que no tiene sentido eliminar contenido de tu blog.

Los tags se pueden editar después de la publicación, puedes agregarle más o puedes eliminarlas como tú quieras, pero repito, ¿cuál es el punto? Si estás utilizando etiquetas de comunidades generales ya estás obteniendo votos automáticos y una vez que los votos automáticos estén dentro, no podrás obtener ningún token comunitario agregando nuevos tags después, a menos que alguien vote después de la edición lo cual es muy poco probable.

Yo también he editado mis publicaciones, he eliminado etiquetas después de que los moderadores de la comunidad me notifican que mi tema no encaja en la comunidad y esto no hace ningún cambio.

Eliminar el Tag erróneo no elimina la publicación de la comunidad; y además, con el historial de edición disponible cualquiera puede verificar si eliminaste o cambiaste algo en tu publicación.

Otra cosa aparte de los tags, ya que hay comunidades que permiten el uso de fuentes externas NUNCA usen contenido de otra persona ya sea desde Google, Facebook Twitter o Instagram sin mencionar de dónde sacaron ésta información, me explico; hace unos meses hice un post que trataba sobre la economía en Venezuela, obviamente toda la información la necesitaba recopilar de algún lado así que recurrí a Google dónde copié y pegue información importante y luego de unos minutos mis últimas cinco publicaciones incluyendo ésta tenían votos en contra o Downvote, que significa ésto? Que en la comunidad donde publique rápidamente detectaron el plagio de contenido ya que no mencioné por ninguna parte donde obtuve ésta información y me mandaron el voto en contra de casi toda la comunidad, no solo a ésta publicación sino a 4 mas por lo que tuve que dirigirme a discord y explicarles lo que pasó para así eliminar sus downvotes de mis publicaciones, corrí con suerte de que haya funcionado y me hayan entendido pero en otros casos esto te puede llevar a la total rutina cómo sería el estar en blacklist, cosa que quizás explique más adelante porque por ahora seguimos con el tema de los tags.

Abuso de Tags.

Es lo más común de realizar de forma incorrecta.

Los que no sabemos y estamos nuevos en el blockchain normalmente eligimos etiquetas según nuestros intereses y los tokens en las comunidades que tienen un cierto valor siempre nos van a parecer atractivos e iremos directamente a usar ese Tag, parece una buena idea pero en realidad NO LO ES.

Tu publicacion puede aparecer en ésas comunidades sin tener nada que ver con el tema de la misma así que piénsalo antes de hacerlo, recuerda que el plagio y el spam son cosas de las que debes cuidarte.

Toda dapp tiene una sección dedicada a las etiquetas y se permiten solo diez etiquetas, si el dapp permite más le aconsejo limitarse a 10, yo estoy seguro que 10 es suficiente para describir lo que está en tu publicación.

Muchos de nosotros hemos elegido en algún momento escribir tags dentro de la publicación, ya sea para un concurso un evento una mención etc... Pero también se han visto casos en los que usuarios colocan el hashtag TAGS y seguido le ponen una lista ilimitada de tags, lógicamente esto es un abuso y puedes enfrentar las consecuencias.

Lo más común ahorita es usar grupos de curadores como tags.

Por ejemplo;

• OCD
• OCDB
• Appreciator
• GEMS
• Curangel
• Rocky

Quién sabrá cuantos otros curadores hay, la cosa es que los nuevos usuarios creen ( yo fui uno ) que esto ayudará a que la publicación sea seleccionada para curación y amigo estamos equivocados.

Cada grupo de curadores tiene sus reglas, pero la curaduría basada en Tags o Etiquetas no está entre las reglas, créeme.

Esto te puede llevar al fracaso fácilmente, ya que usar tantos tags irrelevantes puede ser una señal de alerta y usar éstos tags no solo es inútil, sino que también es una oportunidad desperdiciada para que tu publicación pueda ser descubierta por usuarios que quizás les hubiese interesado leer.

Ya sabes, si ves algún amigo hacer esto, hazle saber que es inútil que se rija por los tags referentes al tema de su post y ya.

Etiquetas.

Cuando digo etiquetar , me refiero al uso de etiquetas y en Hive esto significa que estás usando el nombre de usuario de alguien ya sea para notificar al usuario, mencionarlo en agradecimiento en que quizás estás con ese usuario en algún lugar o lo que sea.

Por ejemplo si escribo en mi publicación @fonestreet (mi usuario), recibiré una notificación de que me etiqueté.

Esto es una función genial no?

Puedes mencionar a tus amigos y saber que reciben notificaciones, pero desafortunadamente como muchas de las cosas buenas, hay que usarla con precaución y evitar abusar de ella.

Etiqueta solo a los que conoces y estás conciente de que no se molestarán contigo.

Ya se han visto muchos casos, en los que por ignorancia han abusado de la función y otros intencionalmente han etiquetado a una gran cantidad de personas para llamar su atención.

Leí que lo máximo ha sido 8k de etiquetas, te imaginas etiquetar a ocho mil personas ???

Esto es considerado spam y te puede llevar a ser incluido en la lista negra inmediatamente.

Lo más común es cuando quieres agradecer a personas, curadores, testigos, a desarrolladores y los etiquetas masivamente, intenta no hacerlo ya que puede ser contradictorio muy fácilmente.

Otra cosa que deberias tener en cuenta es que cada vez que editas tu publicación, las personas que etiquetaste en la misma recibirá una notificación de que las ha etiquetado, así que edita con precaución.

De seguro esperabas una lista de Tags que deberías utilizar pero no, mantente enfocado en describir tu mismo la publicación y llevar uno o dos tags estrictos de la comunidad en la que estás publicando, esto es todo por ahora y espero que les sirva de ayuda la información, aunque en lo encuentre como compartirles una lista de los tags más comunes, lo haré.
