Most humans especially adult thinks they have the freedom to do a lot of things, like freedom of speech and a lot other more, but do you know that we still get restricted to some certain level, take for instance the freedom of speech you are allowed to say something, but do you know what you utter will determine how the next few minutes will be like the more reason we are always asked to be very cautious of the words we say, think critically, before uttering any word, what we say can make or mar us.
Is there anything like too much freedom?
I think the only place we can truly get access to too much freedom is in our mind, since it's limited to us alone, no one knows what we are thinking, and how far we can go in our thoughts, so there are no limitations or restrictions. And what happens when the mind thinks? Action follows.
The first time in my life I felt so much freedom was when I left my parent for my tertiary education, no one telling me when to leave the house and time to get back, no one in charge of my meals, and no security eyes watching me. I had the right to live and behave the way I wanted, still, I couldn't go wild because of the restrictions already set in place due to home bringing which furthermore buttresses my point that freedom is a thing of the mind and restrictions we place, depends on us. Yea, I still had friends who were brought up decently but still took advantage of their perceived freedom the wrong way, involving themselves in things they were not supposed to do.
From the above, you can already deduce that freedom given to some certain level is better than when given too much, people tend to go wild and lose themselves in the process.
Effect of excess freedom in the society
Going back in time, we will see that most of the freedom set down for us in this generation were made due to challenges faced in the past, the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to choose your life partner, freedom to travel, freedom to vote, etc. In the world today, because of too much freedom people are already taking advantage and walking the wrong path, too much freedom leads to insanity in society, that is why it's easy for someone to wake up in the morning and change his or her gender, he just feels he doesn't relate being a man again, all these is as a result of too much freedom we face. The world is heading towards chaos, people breaking the set rules and being too intelligent which is rather insanity.
Take children for instance, if they are given too much freedom by their parents, they tend to get spoilt, with ill manners and become irresponsible to themselves and the world at large.
Freedom is good as it makes us explore our potentials but when given in excess, it's human nature to take advantage of things, so we take this advantage and go beyond normal, some for good, but mostly for bad. So freedom should be given sparingly for a more stable society.
