The same goes for me, I never used to be a phone person until I started exploring its numerous advantages, from taking a full course online, that requires me to read soft copies and also watching some tutorial videos that helped upgrade my fashion skills, then the business part of it, I can't count the numbers of client I've gotten online through an online advert, and then came hive, which further upped my phone usage, as a true hivian, you know the best way to get the best of hive is through active engagement which means we mostly have to be with our phones all the time, also as someone who hardly goes out to interact with people physically, I find solace in my privacy most times, so as expected, my phone is my companion when my hubby is away at work and the children in school, but as there has to be something that takes me off the screen, which I will be furthering more for your reading pleasure.
1 Sleep
Just like I stated in the introduction of this post, sleep is one thing we have no control over no matter how hard or long we try to extend its period, when I'm extremely tired, especially after the day's activity, I just switch my phone off and let my body recharge well, as I'm a light sleeper, a little distraction or just the thought of my phone still on can get me tempted to check my notifications, the reason I just put it off when I don't, I know I have plans to stay awake most of the night.
2 Family
Giving special attention to my family especially my children is one I don't joke with, when I notice any mood change in my daughter and observe she needs my attention, I make sure to drop my phone and give her all the attention she needs, as neglecting a child due to a busy lifestyle has put many children in danger. Study time after school, doing homework and all is other times the phone has to wait, it's also a form of showing good examples to my children.
There are times my husband also needs my full attention, especially during certain discussions, when he asks for me to drop the phone so I can understand him better, I do sometimes depending on the situation and how serious he is, as lack of communication can bring misunderstanding among couples, so I tend to avoid that too.
3 Church
My church recently placed a sanction on the use of phones among workers, since I happen to be a worker, an usher in church, I have no other option than to comply with the church directives.
And lastly
4 Epileptic power supply
It's no news that when it comes to unstable power supply, my country is at the top of this table, and to crown it all the removal of fuel subsidies has made fuel cost per liter triple and not easily affordable, so sometimes I have no choice than to stay phoneless when it is so bad, but I don't let it stay prolonged as I try to find an alternate means of charging either by paying for my devices to get charged at designated outlet.
Do that all about what can separate me from my phone, some sadly, some necessarily, and some unavoidable.
