Hello friends. Happy Tuesday. I hope your week starts off well?
It's still the beginning of the week and also another week with different editions of the @hivelearners.
Been on hive for more than a year and I must say there's a lot of improvement on all the frontend which includes , ecency, peakd, leo finance, 3 speak unlike when I joined a year ago things were a lot harder than now. I believe this upgrade is done to create a user friendly environment for us.
Nobody can be perfect and options are also important for growth. I love this edition topic because it gives users a platform to air their view on what improvement they want here on hive. Since we don't have a suggestion community or platform where users can speak their mind or complain.
Tutorials for newbies:
Let's be sincere, getting on hive can be difficult at times. That's why if you don't have someone motivating you or teaching you, you will feel discouraged and dropout. Not everyone here was referred to by someone. Many were just scrolling through the internet and saw hive, did some searching and joined. Those kinds of people find it hard to here.
And people who have someone who referred them, if the person is not physically present with them go teach it seems hard learning.
I have had this problem onboarding new people on hive, it seems hard for them to understand while teaching them through call so what I do is make a video for them or do a video call and share my screen with them.
Every user after he or she has successfully signed up. Definitely the system notifies that a new user has registered. A video tutorial can pop up that the user must watch before making an introduction post. Video can also be allowed to be downloaded on the phone for easy access when confused.
Newbie's tutorial can be in the form of a reading document tho but for me I prefer video because people understand better by watching video than reading.
Videos are also in different languages.
Easy login with fingerprint:
Using fingerprints to open your smartphone is common. Technology has made it easier that we have smart doors which can be opened with your face ID or fingerprint.
I also add my fingerprint to my smartphone and bank apps too.
Hive can adopt this system for already existing users instead of using hivesigner or keys. It makes logins happen in seconds.
Only transfer of funds might need a password.
I know hive is very conscious of our security but fingerprint is also a good way for security. You just have to be careful who adds his or her finger print to your phone and you can do that by checking your settings in your phone.
Creating a suggestion/complaint community:
Adding to the first suggestion I made. I think we should have a community where anonymous suggestions or complaints can be made. Post aren't allowed in the community but a discord group were members can join and every suggestion is heard.
I'm sure some of us here have complaints or questions to ask but don't know who to ask.
Thank you for reading
