The development of any country depends on many factors like man power, the natural resources and infrastructure etc. The infrastructure play a big role as completely depends on the government, which is responsible for building it. The infrastructure such as hospitals, schools, water supply etc play a major role in day to day life of people living their. A better and sufficient infrastructure improve the quality of the life of people living is the area, for example a good hospital means people will get better medial treatment, the better roads make the transportation easy and smooth, the clean water supply keeps the people safe form the deadly deceases, good school ensure the better education of students. The developing countries has big challenge of building good infrastructure as compare to the developed counties where those facilities are already available. India is developing county and building such basic amenities is big challenge because creating a infrastructure for massive population is not an easy task.
If I compare the condition of roads, schools, hospitals etc around us then it has been improved a lot as compare to the condition of these infrastructure 10 - 15 years back. But still their are many area where still improvement is required. At present where I live is a good locality and we get clean water, roads are not super fantastic but are ok, Hospitals is also within reach. One thing which I feel need a improvement is the education system and schools. The government is working hard on education system and schools are getting upgraded as per the need but still the conditions of Government schools is not as good as compare to the private schools in our area. I have a kid @gurseerat which is six year old, she is in first class and she is in a private school. The obvious reason is that I want best education for her so that she survive in todays competitive environment. The fee structure of the private schools is very expensive, if I compare the fee we are paying for a kid, which is in first class them you will be surprised. The fee of my kid is more then the fee we were paying for my diploma course (after completing my matriculation). A big portion of my salary goes to school fees and they are keep on increasing every year and they are much more for the collage students studding the medical and engineering.
The question is why we are moving to the private sector for education? The answer is the quality of education is much better in private schools as compare to Government schools. The Government schools are lacking even basic amenities like proper water supply, the plying area for kids, the extra curriculum activities etc. In some schools the building are so poor that the parents dare to send their kids in such school building. Some schools has shortage of the staff and even in some schools a single teacher is handing more then one class, or the number of kids in one section is more and its not easy for a teacher to handle more then 20 - 25 kids in one section.
To government has to concentrate more first on the school staff then the school buildings and then some other facilities like extra curriculum, resource for sports activities. The sufficient staff i.e. teachers id available then only the students will get the sufficient attention they require form a teacher. The more students in single sections are not advisable as this leads to the inefficient transfer of knowledge among the students. The upgrading the labs and the class rooms is also necessity of todays time. The kids learn and understand more effectively by using the audio and visual techniques. The Government schools basically lack all these facilities mostly.
I want to add one more thing at the end that building a good infrastructure is responsibility of the Government but keeping it in good shape is responsibility of the people using the same. I have seen the people took it very casually and use the facility provided very unappropriated way. Its cumulative efforts of Government and the people to maintain it. Generally people ask for the facility but when it comes to the responsibility they look at others.
