We all live in a world where we coexist with animals, I am talking about the domestic animals. Form the time the human civilization started the human has a close relation with some of the animals, they use for the hunting, some field work, for milk and other purposes. Form my childhood we heard very many stories in which the animals works closely with humans and in some stories even they show the extraordinary bravery and intelligency. The dogs are the best friend of human and are with us form very starting of the civilization. They were great help during hunting and also provide the safety and security. Now days they are mostly found in our houses for safety and some love them because they are cute. No doubt the little puppy looks cute what they are sometime dangerous when grewup. During my childhood one incident happened with me that changed my mother’s view point about dogs.
My mother is very religious lady and has strong believe in karma, offering to God and sharing with needed etc. In our religion offering food to animals is also good deed. My mother alwasy prepare some extra Roti (bread) everyday for stray dogs. This was her routine and become the part of her daily life till the time one incident happened. I was a little kid and honestly do not remembered all the details. But my mother and grand mother take about it and I also have a little memory of same in my head. We use to play outside our house and that qas our daily routine. This is the normal practice followed by all of us during our childhood. I was on the way to my friend's home and suddenly I was dog was coming near to me very fast, and it was chased my some other dogs. The dog come near to me very fast and was about to jump on me. I qas afraid when saw group of dogs coming to me and when I realized the situation that the first dog is about to jump on me, shouted very loudly. I used all air in my lungs and I was afraid too. But it worked well the dig also get scared when I shouted. The all run away and I must say, that was a narrow escape. The story do not ended here this incident was not know to my mother also.
After the above incident I always feel afraid of dogs and do not want to go near to them. Another fine day we were playing outside our house and from nowhere a stray dog comes and bite me from backside. I was crying in pain. Some perosn standing near rush near to me and at that moment the dog also got afraid and run away. Actually the people there start pelting stone on dog and that qas the reason he run away. Someone rush to my mother to tell the incident happened. She took me in her hands but the bite was deep and the blood was continuously flowing form the wound. They called the doctor and the doctor was able to stop the blood flow using bandages. He also gives the injection for TT and advice to consult the doctors in city hospital. He also advice to take an eye on the dog also as no one know if he was infected with rabies.
My parent do not want to take the risk and take me to the city hospital immediately. The doctors suggested to take the anti rabies injection as the dog was as stare dog and have not been has any required injection in past. I am talking about the incident happened more then 25 - 30 years ago. That was the time when medicin was not so advanced and to avoid the infection of rabies the person has to take series of injection on defined intervals. That was the big task and painful also but my parents done his duty very well and do not missed any appointments with doctor. Keep in mind that transportation was also a challenge in those time and majority of people were depends on public transport.
No doubt it was not an easy task for my parents but they done it very effectively and that's the parents do for their kids. Form that they onwards my mother start hating dogs. She stopped the Roti she offered everyday to dogs. For some time I was also get scared if any dog come near to me.
