Dear Hive friend and Hivr Learner Memebers,
Let me tell you about a bad purchase experience I had about 8 years ago. At the time, my mobile phone had broken and I needed to replace it. I had been using a Nokia E63, which was a Symbian phone with a full keypad. Although Android phones were becoming popular, I was hesitant to switch because of their battery drainage issues. So, I always carried a secondary non-smart phone. Due to my fondness for the E63, I decided to look for a similar replacement.
After searching online, I found a Blackberry phone with a full keypad that seemed like a good option. I was also looking for any good offers or discounts available. During my research, I came across the concept of "refurbished" electronic items. According to my findings, these items were similar to new ones but had been serviced or repaired by authorized personnel. This seemed like a great deal, especially since these items were available for half the market price.
Excited about the opportunity to save money, I purchased the Blackberry phone from an online store that sold refurbished electronics. The phone arrived on time and initially, I was quite pleased with my purchase as it seemed like a good deal. However, my excitement quickly faded when I encountered a problem with the charging port. The phone's battery was not recharging properly, which was a major issue. What initially appeared to be a good deal turned out to be a waste of money.
As a result, I barely used the phone, and it ended up sitting in a drawer on my work desk.
I recently made a happy purchase a few weeks ago that I'd like to share. While on an official tour in Mumbai, I had some free time and decided to visit a nearby shopping mall with one of my colleagues. On our way back, we noticed a stall outside the mall selling discount coupons for an adventure theme park called Imagica. Intrigued, we purchased the coupons as we had already planned to visit the park during our one-week tour.
Visiting Imagica was particularly exciting for me because it was on my kids list of places to visit. They wanted to explore places that we had already been to during our ten years of living in Mumbai, when they were much younger. The coupons we bought also came with free passes, meaning that if we purchased tickets and presented the coupons at the ticket booking counter, we would receive two additional tickets for free. This allowed us to invite others to join us, making the experience even more enjoyable. The ticket for one persone was costing Rs 1600 ($ 20) per person which means the coupne saved the Rs 3200 ($40). It was amazing deal for me.
I must say, my child had a blast during the visit, making our vacation a successful tour. The adventure park offered endless fun, especially when experienced in a group. Thanks to the free tickets from the coupons, we were able to offer the extra passes to friends or acquaintances, creating wonderful memories together.
The lesson I learned from these two incidents is the importance of checking reviews for both companies and products before making online or offline purchases. Customer reviews are incredibly helpful, so it's better to thoroughly read through them before buying a refurbished phone, something I neglected to do. There is nothing better than seeing your kids smile. Planning is a crucial aspect of our lives, and it is always important to remain vigilant and explore our surroundings as there may be good deals waiting to be discovered.
In my recent participation, I received feedback about insufficient interaction within the community. I take this input seriously and am making an effort to be more active. I recognize the importance of this engagement for my personal growth on the platform. Balancing priorities in real life occasionally leads to my reduced posting, but I am committed to trying my best to be active and show up regularly.
