We reached half of 2024. Finally, the weather is heating a bit after a not-very-stable spring. With summer, finally, the government decided to start reducing the interest rates in Canada. They reduced 0.25% not a big deal, but it could help me save around 70 CAD a month in my mortgage. It is almost what I pay monthly in my youngest day care so it is already something. Personally speaking, I had some accomplishments and personal goals that I could achieve in this first half of the year, which also brought fulfillment to my life, but it is difficult to remember exactly.
At work, my supervisor called me to his office last week. I didn't know the discussing topic and I just went with my notebook under my arms. He asked me what was my accomplishments in work since the last fiscal year (starting April 2023). Well, I wasn't prepared for this question because I didn't have time to investigate that. I started to try to remember what exactly was accomplished in this time period. It was hard to remember, I only remembered things that I had recently finished, but for older tasks, my memory was failing and mixing with accomplishments that were finished in the previous year. So it was hard in that moment to remember what was finished in the 2023/2024 fiscal year and what was finished in the 2022/2023 period.
At that moment, I got a bit subjugated and my supervisor got mad asking for things that should have been finished and they weren't. Early this week, I got a task attributed to present project updates since the last update (October 2023) for next Tuesday. So I went to the previous presentation and I could see all the things that I presented. Now it was clear what I accomplished last year. The things that I presented at that moment and those that weren't presented and I accomplished since then. There were many. i
Recent memory works much better, so I can remember in a clear way what I have achieved in the last month perhaps, but for further I need to make a bit of effort. Looking at my hive account I can also make a better overview of what happened. I am 400 HP to reach 5k HP for example. So my dream of getting into dolphin status is closer and probably before the end of the year, I will reach it. Another awesome accomplishment is that I got rid of a bad ingrown toenail that I had coming back for years, I went through a small procedure to remove the part of the corner that was getting ingrown. I wasn't going to be killed with that but it was painful and spent a lot of money on antibiotics every time I got inflamed.
It is tough to remember everything that we accomplished weeks ago, but one thing I am sure, the main accomplishment of being alive and my family being healthy and happy is what is important. Living our life has challenges every day and we go through them with our family support, our safety nest. What do I expect for the future? For sure in one month I will forget about this meeting that I had with my supervisor because I will be focused on immediate challenges and future goals to be accomplished.
Chegamos à metade de 2024. Finalmente, o clima está esquentando um pouco depois de uma primavera não muito estável. Com o verão, finalmente, o governo decidiu começar a reduzir as taxas de juros no Canadá. Eles reduziram 0,25%, nada de mais, mas isso pode me ajudar a economizar cerca de 70 CAD por mês na minha hipoteca. É quase o que eu pago mensalmente na creche do meu caçula, então já é alguma coisa. Pessoalmente, tive algumas conquistas e objetivos pessoais que consegui alcançar nesta primeira metade do ano, o que também trouxe realização para minha vida, mas é difícil lembrar exatamente.
No trabalho, meu supervisor me chamou em seu escritório na semana passada. Eu não sabia o assunto da discussão e fui apenas com meu caderno de anotações debaixo do braço. Ele me perguntou quais foram minhas conquistas no trabalho desde o último ano fiscal (começando em abril de 2023). Bem, eu não estava preparado para essa pergunta porque não tive tempo de investigar isso. Comecei a tentar lembrar exatamente o que foi realizado nesse período de tempo. Foi difícil lembrar, só me lembrava das coisas que tinha acabado de terminar, mas para tarefas mais antigas, minha memória falhava e misturava com realizações que foram concluídas no ano anterior. Então, foi difícil naquele momento lembrar o que foi concluído no ano fiscal de 2023/2024 e o que foi concluído no período de 2022/2023.
Naquele momento, me senti um pouco subjugado e meu supervisor ficou bravo, perguntando por coisas que deveriam ter sido concluídas e não foram. No início desta semana, recebi a tarefa de apresentar atualizações de projetos desde a última atualização (outubro de 2023) para a próxima terça-feira. Então, fui à apresentação anterior e pude ver todas as coisas que apresentei. Agora estava claro o que realizei no ano passado. As coisas que apresentei naquele momento e aquelas que não foram apresentadas e que realizei desde então. Foram muitas.
A memória recente funciona muito melhor, então posso me lembrar de maneira clara do que conquistei no último mês, talvez, mas para períodos mais longos, preciso fazer um pouco de esforço. Olhando minha conta no Hive, também posso ter uma visão melhor do que aconteceu. Estou a 400 HP de alcançar 5k HP, por exemplo. Então, meu sonho de alcançar o status de golfinho está mais próximo e provavelmente antes do final do ano, eu o alcançarei. Outra conquista incrível é que me livrei de uma unha encravada que voltava há anos, passei por um pequeno procedimento para remover a parte do canto que estava encravando. Não iria me matar, mas era doloroso e gastava muito dinheiro com antibióticos toda vez que inflamava.
É difícil lembrar tudo o que conquistamos semanas atrás, mas uma coisa é certa, a principal conquista de estar vivo e minha família estar saudável e feliz é o que importa. Viver nossa vida tem desafios todos os dias e os enfrentamos com o apoio de nossa família, nosso ninho seguro. O que espero para o futuro? Com certeza, em um mês, esquecerei essa reunião que tive com meu supervisor porque estarei focado nos desafios imediatos e nos objetivos futuros a serem alcançados.
