"I STILL BELIEVE" is a movie that I accidentally came across when @merit.ahama made a review about it about a month ago. Unlike before when I'd just commend the movie and pass, that did not happen in this case. After watching the trailer, I was so interested in seeing the movie. That day, my aunty who I was with, was somehow interested in seeing a movie and I just recommended this movie to her and she just agreed to give it a try and that was how I drowned myself in the movie.
The movie is one that makes one have different emotions at the same time. It starred Jeremy Campbell who was both a songwriter and a musician and Melissa who has an ear for good music. Well, I'm not so good at giving reviews on movies but I'd try to make you understand the reason why this movie stands out from every other movies I've seen so far in this year.
The fact that the movie focused on different areas with the same capacity was one of the green flags for me. In the movie, you get inspired as a musician, you get to understand the importance of family support, how to make sacrifices and most especially how God works in mysterious ways. The movie is that based on having faith in God even when the storm keeps raging.
Melissa and Jeremy became lovers but somehow they seperated and that separation made them realized they loved themselves even more than they thought they did. But then, the love Jeremy had for Melissa was really out of this world because even when he found out that Melissa was dying, he still went ahead to marry her even against his parents wish. Melissa was surprised to see the kind of love Jeremy had for her.
Despite all Melissa was going through, she still believed that God had a plan for her and if her dying was God's will, she will gladly accept it. Jeremy was not ready to loss her and he did all that he could to make her whole again. He held concerts and he kept asking his audience to pray for his wife Melissa who had ovarian cancer.
The story goes on and on but in the end, Jeremy lost his beautiful wife Melissa even after being healed miraculously and he felt broken for days until he found a letter Melissa wrote which helped he to snap out of his sorrows. He continued singing and using the story of Melissa to motivate people and you can only imagine how that would really motivate people.
I love this movie because of Melissa even though I hated the fact that she died. Melissa was a believer, that if one is not careful, they might think that she was trying to be too righteous. She had her doubts but then she was always reassured of God's love for her and that kept her going. I was so emotional when Melissa was admitted to the hospital and was still believing in the plans God has for her.
The most interesting thing about the movie is that it was a true life story! I know someone might be saying it's just a movie but then it was all based on a true story. So many people have lost their faith in God because of situations like this. Losing someone we love so dearly and knowing that they believe so much in God but yet faced such fate, has made a lot of people stopped believing in God but then Jeremy got to understand that God is God, he knows best so he kept on believing in God.
Here's a trailer for you and just like I got to watch this movie by recommendation, I think it's not out of place if you could give it a watch too. Have you been through a storm that you think was too much for you to bear? Do you still believe? I know I might not have been through so much in life but seeing these kind of stories, I feel motivated and informed and I hope you are too.
This is my response to the Hivelearners Edition 1 week 87. Until next time, stay AWESOME and JIGGY!!!
