it's all a psyop who says "a gap year isn't too much" it helps you explore yourself like for real it doesn't make any sense.
I always hated the idea of gap year and never imagined anything like that to happen with me but somehow it happened and it's the worst thing that happened in the last 5 years.
My Gap Year was Forced by Life
My studies was going all good and sound everyone in the family was happy about it and than suddenly one day someone from my family passed away
And life kind of turned upside down, had to leave the city and went back to my birth city and year before COVID happened
So I wasn't able to continue studies there and everyone said let's call it a gap year... Unfortunately COVID happened and It lasted for an year
That wasted my another year cause I couldn't take admission at that time.
Gap Year turned into waste of two years
All the friends I had from the college were in university while I was kind of figuring out what life has done to me at that time
And they all graduated two years before I did so it's like I was left behind a lot and felt like I'd never be able to reach where I'd have been if the year wasn't wasted like that
You just can't catch up with everything cause everything in life will move at 2x speed and you'll only keep on regretting about how things are and the guilt will make it difficult to pursue your studies.
I was learning at that time but it doesn't add up
Back then in COVID instead of wasting time I was learning electronic stuff like fixing microwaves, washing machine and other electronic stuff
Spent like couple of months and was getting 200 rupees each day for 9 hours of work that was less than a dollar at that time
And only cursed the life why I'm even there when I should be working on completing my degree.
But life is uncertain and it always throws something unexpected at you and you can only hope for things to become better.
wrapping up...
My gap year turned out more like a disaster and would never want a gap year for even the enemy... But still there are a lot of people who had good impact of gap years
A pause in there studies to pursue a skill that have changed their life but it wasn't the same in my case so I won't recommend it based on personal experience though I'd love to know what's your thoughts on this in the comments.
