Kids nowadays knows more than they should, they use all those Slangs and cursed words like it's normal to speak like that and when you try to correct that kid, either going to misbehave or cry about it.
Kids used to be taught manners strictly back then
I myself was grown up in strict environment since my parents are strict they always cared about how I'm speaking to them and with others.
Told me what Tone I should keep while talking to them or any elders from the very beginning and when they hear a slight difference in my tone while speaking to them, they used to correct that on spot by giving lectures or slipper treatment (depends on their mood).

When we used to meet someone, have to greet first by being polite and when someone comes at your home you offer water, food etc
All these things were told by parents and it is basic 101 parenting that seems like missing nowadays either because parents aren't focused or kids/parents too busy on smartphone.
It's all soft parenting fault
When a kid misbehaves, it is simply because parents are soft and they think correcting children will break their confidence.
Like in my own family I have seen these kids growing up by soft parents and everytime they misbehaves, the response will be: either laugh or nothing much

I even asked why not correct kids when we can and we should so they don't misbehave with others in teen or later.
And they'll be like these are kids, we can't just slap em or scream at them cause it'll be traumatic and they'll never know how to talk or speak confidently.
Some of it makes sense like don't scream or slap kids because they misbehaved but there's better way to correct these kids like taking privileges away when they do it often
No more Game because you behaved like that with mom. one or two hours in, that kid will be on his knees and lesson learnt that "misbehaving isn't good".
This isn't soft parenting nor harsh just the way it should be to teach kids manners - in my opinion.
Wrapping Up...
In the end it all comes down to upbringing of kids, the way we do.. I remember my parents saying that the way we speak to others represent how well your parents have raised you.
And the society is always going to blame parents if some kid misbehave, I had this fear if I did misbehaved and someone told my parents, I'm screwed. I don't think today's kid care about it anymore. is it different in your side of the world? Would love to know how it's like kids misbehaving and the way parents correct them.
