Hello everyone welcome to another edition of week 19 of the hive learners.
Today as the topic implies self discipline, really takes alot to stand on ,where others are doings bad things and they keep propelling,you tend to keep your distance.
Self discipline is not everyone's ideal,it's like a brake of a vehicle to control yourself when you are about to enter a bump or pothole,so is self discipline is to control yourself towards ungodly things that comes as like opportunities, to start with I would like to share little of my experience,how I happen to control myself;
There was a time during my years in highschool ,there was a workshop I used to be an apprentice of furniture and carpentry,I was there before I gained admission so I continued even when I gained admission.
During these years I spent there,we were many ,upto 40 apprentice, each and everyone has their duty apart from learning,I will speak specifically about myself. I was in charge of buying furniture materials like leather,couch cloth, tack nails,wood polish,gum etc,where I will be given huge amount of money and asked to buy in respect of amount I was given.
Lots of advices keeps coming from my superior about how I could manipulate things and get some amount into my pockets,each and everytime it keeps repeating itself to the extent they started calling me mumu(dumb), they kept calling me names behind my backs,but I will never do that ,I wasn't raised with such motives , what isn't mine shouldn't be taken in a cunny way.
These people will keep stealing things from the workshop to their benefit,they would steal nails,woods,gum,screw and the likes to make furnitures outside the workshop and keep to themselves.
Sometimes they make furnitures and sell them within the workshop without the consent of the owner,I was only left out.
Even the small ones cultivated the habit, they continued for years until the owner noticed and started examining each and everyone without us knowing,he would check our bags when it's almost closing time to know people stealing things.
He started that and all of them were caught red handed,he does check my bags but nothing to be found, that was when he started liking me more, sometimes I would be at school,he would call me to check on me and even ask when I will be coming.
To cut the story short,I am now in charge of buying all materials and accounting for them,he really trusted me and promised to Link me up with right authorities to get loan for my own business when am done there he promised to help me in every way he can because I have contributed to the growth of his business.
Be truthful in everything you do,it pays...
