History is the most boring topic when we read about it. In other words, history means that an incident in the past has had a significant impact or brought some significant changes. We can't connect emotions with history unless we are part of history, and that's why we feel bored while reading history.
It doesn't matter if history is interesting or boring; it's important, and every country has some glorious history. In the case of my country, there are a lot of glorious histories to be proud of. I have reached most of them in the book, and I was not a part of that history. I had no emotional attachment to those, but last year I became a part of history, and I witnessed everything with my own eyes, and I can connect with history emotionally.
I think you can guess what the history of the last year of my country is, as I am. It's about the student protest of last year, which started for an unfair quota system. In the history of my country, all the student protests were successful, and this time it was also the same, but this time we achieved more than we expected. Our ex-president could solve the matter fairly, but because of personal gain, the ex-president made aggressive statements against students and made the students violent. And the ex-president tries to play at dominant rule by using force. Few students died, and many students were arrested at the beginning, which made the students more violent because it was totally unfair and unjust.
The ex-president agreed/forced fair quota distribution, but at the time it was too late for it because many students lost their lives for recklessly using the force. The murderer, the ex-president, was merciless and played every possible and cruel method to stop the protest. After losing so many lives, how can students satisfy themselves just by a fair quota system? What about the lives students lost for it? It would be an injustice for them if the killer didn't get punished, and it was impossible for the ex-president because how could she punish herself as he was the murderer and she was not a saint to accept punishment by law?
Actually, most of the people of my country were not satisfied with the president's action for many years but didn't dare to speak because they were afraid as many people had already lost their lives for saying something against the government. People lost the freedom of speech. When most of the students joined the protest and many students were killed for it, people also joined the protest rather than sitting at home. If the president survived that time, it would be a very terrible thing for the students who took part in the protest. For the sake of the students and for the sake of the future of the country, the stepping down of the ex-president was the only solution, and it was the one and only demand of the protest, and on 5 August, the murderer ex-president ran away, being afraid of the students as the students were marching towards the home of the ex-president.
It was the day we got back the freedom of speech, and the happiness can't be explained by words. It was history, and I felt very proud to be a part of the history. I believe that in the future no president will fear to do reckless things like the ex-president.
