Parents are the divine gift for children, and it says that God can read to everyone directly, and so God sends parents to take care of us. Although it's not a logical statement, the meaning of the statement is not wrong either. Parents always give their best to ensure the better future of the year. Children doesn't matter if parents are good people or bad people, except for some exceptions.
The assets of parents come to their children after them. The glory and reputation also come in the same way, and children enjoy the benefits from that. What will happen if parents are sinners? Does their child need to bear the responsibility of their parents? What do you think?
From one perspective, each person is different. So parents and children are different. If parents engage in any illegal activity, they need to be punished for the action. Their children are innocent, and I think it's unfair to treat them as sinners for their parents actions. There is no surety that the child of a criminal will be a criminal. In fact, treating their child unfairly and making them suffer again and again turns them into criminals. Again, no law permits to bully the child of criminals, and it's against the law also. Some may say that when their child is ready to enjoy the assets of parents, then why not in the time of sin? We can't say that children don't bear any responsibility for other things for parents. Debt is the best example of it. There are many children who pay their parents' debt, which has nothing to do with them. So I think children should not bear responsibility for their parents illegal things, and in other cases, they naturally bear the responsibility. So I don't think there is any way to treat them differently.
Just imagine children are mature enough to understand what is right and what is wrong. In that case, this should restrict their parents if they are doing any illegal activities. Sometimes they are not capable, but after their parents, they may have the chance to fix the thing. Suppose your father forcefully takes the asset from others, and after your father, those assets belong to you naturally. In that case, don't you think you should return the asset to the real owner as in the time you have the authority? If you don't want to do that, then I think treating you unfairly is not wrong either because you are enjoying others assets even if you know that those things don't belong to you. You are also doing the sin like your father in that case.
Let's see it from another perspective. Naturally, children get many habits from their parents because of their genes. So there is a possibility that the child of a criminal also gets the same habit, and children learn many things from their parents. It's not necessary to happen in every case, but there is a possibility. In my case, I always try to keep my distance from a child of a criminal or sinner for my safety purposes. Although their child is not a criminal, why should I take the risk in my case? My safety is always my priority, and for that I don't have it to maintain distance from a criminal's child, even if it's unfair to him. I don't think I am doing anything wrong in that case also.But at the same time, I want to blame him directly or humility for his parents actions also.
