A Needed Lie !

First of all, I want to say that lying is a very bad habit. When we tell one lie, we have to keep lying to cover up that one lie. A lie is like a disease that keeps spreading. We should make every possible effort not to lie. However, sometimes in life, situations arise where we have to lie even if we don’t want to.

These lies are told to protect someone from harm. I faced such a situation in my life too, and it happened when I was in school.

Before telling you the story, I want to give you some background. During my school life, I had two friends, one named Faizan and the other named Ali. This incident is about Faizan. Faizan's father was a very strict person and did not allow him to go out of the house.

Faizan was only permitted to go to school and, after that, to tuition classes, and then spend all his time at home. Faizan's father allowed him one more thing: to be with us, his friends. he has trust in us.

Faizan needed to go out of the city to meet a friend, and we were sure that his father wouldn’t allow it. So, we planned to tell Faizan's father that he was coming with us to my house and that he might get late. But this was not the truth. What actually happened was that Faizan got delayed in returning, and his father called us, asking why Faizan hadn't come home yet. We panicked and didn't know what to say. In a hurry, I told his father that Faizan was with us and was in the washroom at the moment and that he would be late because we were doing the combined study.

I am sure that if we hadn't lied or if our lie had been caught, Faizan's father would have beaten him badly and might never have allowed him to go with us again. But thankfully, we got away with it and our lie was not discovered. Faizan had gone for something important, and we had to lie to protect him.

We told this lie out of necessity; otherwise, I am strongly against lying and always make every effort not to lie.
