INVISIBLE
While growing up as kids, we always wished to have super powers to do so many things. Some of these things included traveling to other countries we only saw on paper while some were as much as sneaking home unnoticed by our parents after we may have done things that warranted some scolding or punishing.
Now as an adult with a more mature mind and orientation, if I had the power to be invisible even for a day, I would love to do the following:
I have always enjoyed traveling and I have had places both within and outside of Nigeria I have wanted to visit. Traveling is fun and adventurous for me and because of the limitation of financial resources, I am constrained to travel occasionally. If I was invisible, I would travel via air so I could see buildings and houses as tiny objects while enjoying free fare. It will be an opportunity to visit beautiful places like the Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, Jade Mountain Resort of St. Lucia in the beautiful islands in the Carribbean. The beauty of it would be that I will get to see these amazing sights for free even though unfortunately, I won’t be able to take pictures due to my invisibility. And I would not mind sailing in a ship to enjoy the calmness, wideness and breeze of the sea. It would be my first to travel by the waters.
Being invisible would afford me the opportunity to visit some loved ones who are far or near.
There are actually people I want to know how they are faring without them necessarily knowing I am caring for them.
It would not be out of place if I got to visit those wrongly treated and I got the opportunity to offer succor to them. It has been my desire to lend helping hands to the needy without them knowing I am responsible.
And I do not mind attending meetings both of local and international standards so as to be abreast of what is happening in the world at large.
I want to imagine myself walking past some fierce looking security agents and military at the presidential villa – Aso Rock without being noticed to have a first-hand experience of how it is like.
For the bad leaders in our society, I would not mind frustrating their lives with the hope to have them reconsider their ways and be better leaders.
Finally, being invisible can have its positive impact but I cannot deny the fact that it can be abused and used for the wrong reasons. I know there are people that would not mind entering the vaults of banks to steal money or people that may want to cause harm or mischief to those that may have wronged them in the past. Whatever gift we are given even for a brief moment should be aimed at making life and our environment a better place to live in.
