Hello Dear Learners!, Again with you in this contest. I am very optimistic to share with you the present state of my nation - Ghana.
INTRODUCTION
For many people who know or have heard the history of Ghana can tell a brief background, how the nation is very rich with natural resources. Some of these Natural resources are Gold, Diamond, Bauxite, Oil, Timber and Cocoa. Ghana is one of the richest land in the world, in terms of the land supporting crops growth.
Many Countries would wonder 🤔 why Ghana is still under developing. I heard Ghana being developing at my infant age, yet we are still under developing. Our state of economy, production and currency are all poor. We have not being able to exploit our natural resources to support the inhabitants. One would ask; what is the problem accounting to this?
Our Leaders Our Power Drunk
Before the the era of Democracy, there was Military rule. Which was comparatively better. We thought the Military rule was the use of force over riding one another for power. We brought democracy which would allow many people to exercise the franchise, right and speak of their mind. Today, most people will agree that democracy is becoming worse. Since many Leaders could play with our feelings and emotions without been questions.
People are rushing for positions like Presidency, Parliamentary, Ministerial Appointment, District Chief Executive and Assembly members. But the bottom line is that, after winning the seat, the state money that would be given to them for development they use for their personal growth and luxurious things.
So, the nation is in jeopardy, a state of confusion and lack of many amenities and infrastructural development.
Depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi against the US Dollar.
One of the major challenge Ghana is facing now, and the major reason why I said this year is the worse year is that, it is the year the Ghanaian cedi ( GH¢) has depreciated to the Dollar 10Gh¢ is = 1$. So the Ghanaian Citizens are dying, Investors and traders cannot import goods due to high taxes on their goods. Most of the things they were buying for $10,000, have one tripled to $30,000 at the foreign market due to the use of plenty Cedis to exchange for Dollars.
Hike on Fuel prices
The high prices on fuels have affected most commodities even in our local markets. There is evidence fact that fuels have gone up in the World Market. Hyperinflation is also affecting the nation. But the Government could have subsidize for people to be a bit relieve for the hardship economy. Here is case, there has been frequent fuel price increase. This has inturned affected all things especially the basic needs like food.
What is surprising most Ghanaians is that, we have been mining fuel at Cape 3 points, so can't this fuels be use to reduce the cost of buying fuels from the World Market? We leave the matter to our lovely people here to share your ideas of what to do. Thank you.
