Is going to school and getting good grades a measure of intelligence? What are your thoughts on this? Do we all need to go to school to be intelligent? Or is there something else that needs to be done? Share your thoughts after reading.
Going to school and getting good grades is a part of measuring intelligence, except for the case of those who got their degree in a way that is not properly aligned. The fact that education doesn't bring it's intended benefits or promises doesn't mean it's a flop as to measuring if someone who went through it is actually intelligent.
A BIT OF VIEW
Almost everything around us is working from the little or large knowledge we got from school today, look at the blog you are reading or writing now, it was as a result of the knowledge instilled in you some time ago. Check how an educated person handles situation or a group work, you can tell that school plays a very big role in adding to ones intelligence... This is not disputing the fact that one cannot succeed without educational knowledge, but we are talking about being intelligent
As much as we have seen reputable people who have gotten to top positions today without a completion of their education, we can also strongly agree that the little knowledge they got from their school a long time back played an important role. Check out the list of richest people today and see their educational background. Yes people made money without education but the list of educated intelligent millionaires are more than those who didn't step foot on any learning institute
THE NEED
There is strong need and urge for everyone oppurtuned to go to school but if the opportunity didn't come doesn't mean we can not still get intellectual development from other ways. We have allot of smart individuals out there who without education has managed to get their way up there too and this shows they are intelligent that is why I stated at the beginning that going to school and getting good grades is a part of measuring intelligence and not just the whole sentiment
WHAT SHOULD BE DONE
My concluding thoughts would be that, as one is acquiring these degrees he or she should strive towards looking beyond the formal educational qualifications they are getting. Because a good mentor of mine ones said, FORMAL EDUCATION WILL MAKE YOU A LIVING BUT SELF EDUCATION WILL MAKE YOU A FORTUNE - Jim Rohn so in all and all we can conclude by saying going to school and getting good grades is not a total or accurate measurement of intelligence but a part to acquiring knowledge that can make you intelligent.
