I was once called a jack of all trades because I picked interest in a lot of skills, it was interesting at first because I got to learn a lot of skills which always came in handy. One time my boss in a company where I worked asked me what I couldn’t do because anything there was to do at the office I had knowledge about. But then again a time came when they demanded more than what I could give. I only had ideas about these skills, I did not know much about them. At one point I began to look like a liar and was often asked why I could not do something I said I could do. Truth was I never said I could do it, I only did the part I knew how to do and they assumed I could do it. Now I was becoming a liar because in truth I could do it, but not like a master will do it. This prompted me to seek to major in one skill or inter-related skills so I could become a master and not a liar.

I started by learning graphics design, and I became really good with corel draw graphics, after which I decided to pick up social media management which I am currently doing. I have taken a lot of courses on it and I’m planning to take an advanced course on it. Currently I’m running a degree program on social media management, and when I am done, I wish to do the advanced course. But then social media management is very broad and it also requires a lot of inter-related skills. In social media management you have graphics design, video editing, SEO, content writing, copy writing, sales writing, Adsense, to mention but a few. This is why I can not call myself a master yet, and if I am to be honest, although I know most of these things, there is a level I need to reach before I can call myself a master.
Two months ago I got an opportunity to learn adsense for a month and become specialized in that field. But then the fee was really high. It comes with a high level certification and recommendation to brands but with a fee of almost 700,000 naira, I had to let it pass. If I ever have the opportunity to learn any skill it will be adsense, because I know it will help boost sales of any company or brand I work with, giving me a means to make more for myself and finally be able to call myself a master of something. When you talk about adsense you talk about all social media related ads including google, understanding their matrixes, and KPIs and being able to use them to get results the average people can not get, and all I need to do is study it for a month which right now, might not be possible because of the fees, but hopefully I will be able to do it soon in the future.
