A very good day to you all!
Sure you're having a wonderful week? Mine has been good, with a little running here and there.
From what I've noticed, I think babies have a magnetic and compelling force within them because how can a sweetly dressed guy with starchy ironed clothes go and carry a baby smiling at him, not minding that his clothes would get badly squeezed? That's my experience almost every Sunday. One of the ladies in our church Unit has a baby, and whenever this baby is around, she always loves to be carried by everyone, and you can't ignore that lovely gesture from her.
I love babies at a certain stage and I leaves them when they get to a certain age because there's a stage they'll get to where they become frustrating beings.
Coming from a family with many siblings and also being among the first set, I had a lot of experiences seeing my siblings grow up from babies to teens, and I loved those moments.
I witnessed some of them take their first steps to walk, but there was one that touched everyone in the family.
My brother was already one year old and yet to have his first walk when a neighbor's baby that was born in the same month was already running errands for his mom. It became a matter of concern to us, and according to my mom, all of us (her children) took the first steps in the 8th and 9th month.
The neighbor was intimidating and mocking us with her baby, and it used to be very bad.
My parents thought maybe there was something wrong medically, so he was taken to the hospital after 1 year and 3 months without walking. The doctor examined him and confirmed that he's very okay.
My mom didn't believe the report from the doctor; she suggested they go see an herbalist to check spiritually, but my dad killed the idea.
That's how we stayed, leaving everything to God.
On one of the days of that same month, around evening time,
One of my siblings rushed out from the parlor to meet us outside. "Christian just walked," he said, surprisingly and full of excitement.
We didn't believe him, so we went inside to see for ourselves. We found him sitting and crawling as usual.
To experiment what we just heard, I raised him up and made him stand up while supporting him with my hand. Then I left him to stand alone and placed a biscuit before him, inviting him to come and get it from my hand. To our very eyes, he staggeredly stepped forward and fell down after his three steps. Mehn! We all switched to jubilation.
It's a custom that if you see a baby taking its first step, you must buy him a gift...anything at all.
Yes, we multiplied the biscuits for him that day.

I'm glad to let you know that he began to run around within two weeks after he took his first step.
Thanks for reading.
