Greetings, everyone!🙌
When it comes to promise and humans,
one thing I would like to point out is that, as long as we are humans, we will fall victim to not keeping the promises we made because life and our existence are not fixed or predictable.
I'm not really a promise-maker, especially when it comes to money. The best I can do is end up with "let me see what I can do," and if at the end I couldn't do anything, I shouldn't be held as a promise-breaker because that was never a promise.

Let me share one of the situations in which I found myself breaking a promise I made. This is the peak of them all, and anytime I remember it, I quickly go and beg the person for forgiveness again.
It was last year when I met this lady (let's call her Jennifer) through her friend, who is also my friend. We became friends...virtual friends, and one thing led to another, she mistakenly fell in love with me.🙈
She became very open to me, to the extent that she poured out her past life to me. As for me, I was open to her too, but hers was so extreme because she was in love.
They were some part of her life that she told me, and I made sure I promised her I wouldn't let the words out to anyone, no matter what happens.
During that period, I was writing on Readcash, and that platform was not like this one. Over there, we write anything that comes to mind because there was no prompt.
On one of the days of writer's block, I decided to write about my previous day (which was the day we talked), and I faintly mentioned what we discussed that day on the blog.
A guy on the platform read the article and approached me saying that she likes what he read about her (Jennifer). Meanwhile, what I wrote about her was not actually bad; it's just that it's not something worth sharing, and I didn't think of someone coming to meet me via the writing because I took it as a virtual world.
I refused to give this guy her number, but when he persisted, I had to give it to him after seeking permission from the Jennifer, telling her that someone was asking to meet her, and she agreed.
Before I gave the guy the number, I told him to promise me that he wouldn't let the girl know that I wrote something about her. The guy agreed and that was it.
My people!
Just a week after I gave the guy her number, Jennifer came attacking me...the guy I gave the number had let our secret out.
Mehn! It was painful for me because I couldn't justify anything.
I had to plead for weeks before she could calm down and saw it as a flop on my side, and humans are bound to make mistakes.
For sure, our relationship never remained the same. Even after she forgave me, she blocked my contacts from reaching her. I knew I was at fault, so I didn't bother to get her to unblock me.
It was after two months that I begged her through her friend that she unblocked me.
Till today, we still talk, but the bond is not there.
Hey, I know you want to bash me, you're free.
