I've been on this blockchain for 1 year and a month, and one of the things I didn't catch up on earlier was connecting with people, which got me a little big regretful at a later run when I found its benefits.
What actually made me run away from connecting with people is nothing I'm proud to say. It's not like I was scared; no, I just saw most of the trending people as high-IQ people and people I thought I couldn't mingle with, hence making me settle into a very small cycle. I had(and still have) a belief system that making ways to get known or make friends with high-class people is basically eye service, and this habit puts me off. Most of these people don't like to support "growing people"; they will make people like us pass through many hurdles before they will even reply casually to one's comments or follow back. This actually made me not get waves on my previous blogging platforms...I decided not to mingle with them.
But everything took a u-turn when I pulled off my low self-esteem's coat and began to associate with these big people on a local level. Local level here means associating with people that are making waves and are very easily approachable—people that I've been with for a while even though there have been distances.
My first level of deep connectivity with people on this blockchain was during the Newbies Initiative organised by this community. Although I wasn't keen on thorough engagement but I was able to meet high-profile people who really stoop low to harbour us. Meeting the forum really opened my eyes to a lot of things on the blockchain—things I never thought of their existence. I remember when I made an article on KEY SECURITY, a guy—I mean, a big guy in this blockchain—confirmed that he had never heard, met, or seen something like this on this blockchain.
You know the interesting thing? I came to know about the Hive Learners Community when I decided to mingle with people I mentioned earlier. One of them pushed me to get verified on Discord, and that's where my actual journey started on this blockchain. Things never remained the same.
Ever since then, I've been trying my best to connect more with people, not just to connect but to make friends, because these things work better with friendship.
I've met a lot of friends that have helped and guided me more on this blockchain, I've learned a lot of things that Ordinarily, I wouldn't have known by myself for now.
I'm this person who comes down so low whenever I want to learn from you, irrespective of your age (younger than me). A lot of you can attest to this with the way I bug you with endless questions.
The last set of people I met in Dreemport as a team of a group have been so wonderful, especially when it comes to "updates" as we usually call it, and the tips we've been sharing ever since we met have been so amazing. If I hadn't connected with them, the knowledge and goodies I've been blessed with from them wouldn't have been handy to me...for now.
Thanks for reading.
