First of all, what is a better world?
A better world is purely seen as one with the absence of greed, corruption, and poor leadership. In such a world, individuals prioritise fairness over personal gain, and leaders serve the people and the system with integrity. Such an environment fosters trust, social harmony, and sustainable progress, leading to a more equitable and prosperous society where the well-being of all is prioritised.
My simple answer to the question is a big NO.
The only thing that has geared our hope for a better world is the sermons we learn in our religious houses. This has made us so hopeful, living and expecting the period where everything will be smooth and easy. It'll also interest you to know that this better world promised by our creator is after rapture. Will you be alive to witness this when it happens? You know the answer for yourself.
Aside from the hope laid in our religious beliefs, there's nothing like a better world coming for us because the world is getting shattered as the years pass. Ever since I was born, it has been a series of "better yesterdays, a better last year, and a better last tenure with the government".
Just take a look at what's happening in Nigeria now; the last tenure of government that we were all crying about is now better than what we are seeing currently.
If you and I eventually considers making the world a little more liveable, then it's going to start from the root, which is impossible because we not ready for that. Why? We are humans. But if (take note of If) we agree on that, then the simple task is simple.
Let me give an example:
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to listen to a sermon on the radio, and the preacher said something that struck me about the Ten Commandments. He said that if everyone decides to obey the simple commandments given to us, then there wouldn't be any need for theft, corruption, or killing to acquire power.
This is applicable to our current state of life; we know what is good and what is bad but we still choose the bad. We don't don't just care, we overlook it and continue the execute we feel it's right
Yes, I'm among those who blame the government for the hardships we are facing today, but I've also seen where difficult situations are being pushed into the system by mere people. Let me not go far... *In some parts of my state, there are places where the house agent collects more than the house rent fee. If you don't give them, you're not getting any house. That's pure greed and wickedness! Does the government have a hand in that? No!
Even at the government house, the president or governor cannot carry on with a devilish act if he doesn't get support from his subordinates. You see? We are our own problems.
The only way to make the world liveable for us is for us to REPENT. I don't mean religious repentance; I mean, clearing off greed from the heart and living with the pure heart we were created with.
Now,
do you see us changing our ways in this current era? Totally impossible š
Even on this platform that's benefiting all of us, a good number of users are highly collaborating with greed....a topic for another day
Thank you for reading.
