Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 166, Edition 02 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “FOR A REASON”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “FOR A CURE”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about the choices they would make if they had to give themselves up to be experimented on, in the hopes of finding a cure to cancer. If the cure to cancer is hidden somewhere in their genes, many told us the impact such a gift would be, not just for the individual but for the world at large.
We got to see the different choices members would make. There were those who would be willing to go under the knife just to help bring to life a world where cancer wasn't so dangerous anymore. Meanwhile, there were those who were hesitant about making such a sacrifice, especially when it wasn't certain that it could work. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w166e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
FOR THE GREATER GOOD by @michupa
This author told us that he would make the sacrifice for the greater good. While being treated like a guinea pig is not something that anyone would want for themselves, however, being the person blessed with a gift that could save millions of lives came with a sense of duty, one that he couldn’t hide from. And he would do what was needed to save the world.
SACRIFICES AND SECOND THOUGHT by @george-dee
For this author, he told us that the choice to put our lives on the line for the sake of millions of others is something that’s easier said than done. Because when faced with the decision, not everyone would end up taking it. He doesn’t think that making such a sacrifice would make much of a difference in the world because there will always be those who will be looking to capitalize on it to make a profit.
SAVING THE WORLD COMES AT A PRICE- WHAT IF IT WERE YOUR LIFE? @aiuna
For this author, she said that making such a decision would be extremely difficult. Everyone deserves a happy life, but choosing this would deny the volunteer from having one. However, refusal to make the sacrifice would also make her feel guilty due to the number of lives that could have been saved. In the end, such a decision would require a lot of thinking, due to the gravity of it.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
Honorable Mention
NO HEROES, NO SAVIOURS: WHY THE WORLD WON’T CHANGE WITH A CURE by @manclar
IF MY GENES HOLD THE CURE: A LIFE FOR MILLIONS by @nkemakonam89
SETTING A PRECEDENT MIGHT NOT BE A GOOD THING by @ladysryastark
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!
Week 166 - Edition 02 Topic
“Can there be a time when it's acceptable to tell a lie? Maybe you do it with the belief that it's better than telling the truth due to the consequences that may arise from the truth. Can that justify telling a lie? Or is it simply an excuse?”
