Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 174, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “NO MORE MEDICATION”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “LITERACY”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community telling us about their thoughts on the impact being literate had on an individual, and if the absence of it made them bad. Seeing as there is usually a stereotype around people who may not be as learned as others.
We got to see that being literate doesn’t make an individual a good or a bad person. The character of an individual is not determined by how proficient they are in reading and writing. These are choices that people make and, as such, shouldn’t be blamed on literacy. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w174e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
THE OUTPUT OF AN INDIVIDUAL’S CHOICE by @intishar
This author told us that the true purpose of literacy is for every individual to be independent, and not for validation by others. The kind of people we are today is only a result of the choices we made in the past. While being literate has nothing to do with being a good or bad person, it can be helpful in shaping the visions of an individual, which is just as important.
EDUCATION AND LITERACY TO FREE YOUR MIND by @shiftrox
For this author, he told us literacy and education are the first steps to take when we want to change the world. Things would be so much worse if the majority of the world’s population were not literate. While individual character is complicated, literacy can indeed create better people, because with more knowledge comes the will to break free from what used to be the norm.
For this author, he gave us a different spin on the meaning of illiteracy. One can be illiterate in a particular field, but learned in another. The area where they choose to focus and shine would be where they’re most literate. And as such, individuals shouldn’t be judged based on how they look or speak, because it might be hard to tell where exactly their strengths lie.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
Honorable Mention
LITERACY DOES MAKE A BETTER PERSON by @xlety
IGNORANCE IS THE MOTHER OF ALL VICES by @ladyaryastark
CAN LITERACY MAKE YOU A BETTER HUMAN OR JUST BETTER AT GRAMMAR? by @fashtioluwa
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!
Week 174 - Edition 03 Topic
“It's not everything that medication solves. From time to time, what is needed could be a change of lifestyle. Tell us about a time when a change in your habits led to a healthier lifestyle, something that even prescribed medication couldn't get you. It could be depression, a basic illness, or you were just able to overcome it by doing ordinary things. Tell us about it.”
