So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the second topic for this week, which is “NOT IN SCHOOL”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “MONEY BEGETS HYGIENE”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us about their thoughts on money being a major determinant of how hygienic a person can be. The more money a person has can impact just how clean they get to be as an individual.
We got to see that this isn’t the case for many people at all. Cleanliness is a choice, and it’s one that many people have to make on their own; it has nothing to do with how much they’ve got in their bank accounts. In the end, everyone has to decide to take their hygiene seriously, because anything else would be their own fault. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w176e1 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. This author told us that in a way, lack of hygiene can be linked to poverty. She gave instances where people choose not to utilize certain amenities available to them, preferring to continue with unhygienic practices. And this can be seen in the way they live, the clothes they wear, and even the environments they live in.

For this author, he said that hygiene is more about habits than bank balances. Cleanliness is a matter of discipline, values, and having a sense of responsibility. Money only makes a person more of what they are; it doesn’t change who they are into someone else. He disagrees that money makes a person clean.

For this author, he told us that while money makes it easier to buy whatever cleaning product we want, it will still be up to us to decide how and if exactly we get to use them. In the end, it all boils down to the individual’s conscience and what they’re willing to allow. Regardless of financial status, many won’t tolerate dirty environments, while others won’t mind at all.
