Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 176, Edition 03 of our Weekly Featured Content.
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the third topic for this week, which is “GAP YEAR”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “NOT IN SCHOOL”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us about the life lessons that they had picked up outside of school environments. They weren’t taught in class, they didn’t find it in textbooks, but they managed to get the lessons that changed the course of their lives.
For many, they choose to learn from experience, while others learn from the experiences of others. Either way, we learn many times from events that have happened in the past, because that is the only way we can plot a blueprint of what our lives should be like. It was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w176e2 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
SCHOOL TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS BUT NOT HOW TO MAKE MONEY by @sperosamuel15
This author told us that while school has always been preached to be the pathway to a stable life and a means to make money in the future, that was never the case for many people. Good money habits and financial literacy were not taught in school. This is because while school gives you knowledge, life teaches to about money.
SCHOOL IS ONLY A PART OF THE SOLUTION by @terganftp
For this author, he said that while education is also important, it’s only a part of the solution. This is because in life, it’s not what you know that makes all the difference, but who you know. While having the knowledge might inform you of the opportunities, the people you know and the networks you’ve built will make sure that you seize those opportunities.
WHY SCHOOL DIDN’T PREPARE ME FOR LIFE: HARD TRUTHS FROM THE REAL WORLD @idksamad78699
For this author, he told us one painful truth that he had come to learn about life. People will only value you as long as they find you useful to them. Once that need is no longer met, it’ll become easy to be fed up with you. He also shared some major lessons, letting us know just how much can be learned outside the walls of the school.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (@melinda010100) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:
Honorable Mention
THE REAL SCHOOL IS OUT THERE by @michupa
WHY REAL WORLD SKILLS SHOULD BE A PART OF EVERY CHILD’S EDUCATION by @bhattg
WHAT SCHOOL DIDN’T TEACH ME by @princessbusayo
These are posts that were also found to be quite exceptional.
AND NOW, WE MOVE ON TO THE NEW TOPIC!

“Is taking a gap year a good move for growth? That's taking some time between achievements to do other things. It could be a gap year between academic pursuits or a gap year between jobs. Will this be a good sign for growth? Or is this simply an excuse for procrastination?”
