This edition of the hive learners weekly featured contents reminds me of my childhood days when I usually fantasize about some of my favorite fictional heroes like superman, batman, the flash, ironman, thor and so many others, including anime characters like Naruto and co. But amongst all these, the DC universe (DCU) heroes were my favorite.
DC heroes consist of superman, batman, and other heroes usually associated with them. I love them more because of the multitude of characters they have and I'm not just talking about the members of the justice league but also the justice society which has a lot more members than the justice league. And because of these many heroes (with many of them being overpowered), the DCU will win in a battle against their competition; marvel universe.
Taking a tour of the DCU
I first find myself in the wonderful city of metropolis where Superman is now based (even though he grew up in Smallville, Kansas). After taking a tour of the city, I headed back to my hotel and as the sun set over the bustling metropolis, Superman soared through the sky, scanning the streets below for any signs of trouble. He was always on the lookout for danger, and tonight was no exception.
While watching the network news, a news report came from Central City and the Flash was zipping through the streets at lightning speed, responding to a call for help from the police. A group of armed robbers had taken hostages in a downtown bank, and The Flash was the only one who could get there in time to save them. I suddenly remembered I haven't visited batman, so I headed for Gotham city that night.
Back in Gotham City, Batman was perched atop a high-rise building, his keen senses alert for any suspicious activity. He had heard rumors of a new villain in town, one who was more ruthless and cunning than any he had faced before. He actually looks scary as he is perched on top of the building and after looking around for a while, I left before he mistakes me for a villain 😆 I thought about visiting wonder woman's hometown, Themyscira, but I remember they don't accept men, so I perished that thought.
On my way back to Metropolis, a massive earthquake shook the entire eastern seaboard. Buildings toppled, roads crumbled, and chaos reigned supreme. It was clear that this was no ordinary quake - something had caused it, something beyond human comprehension. Superman was the first to arrive on the scene, quickly followed by the Flash and Wonder Woman. Together, they worked tirelessly to rescue survivors, quell fires, and restore order to the devastated city.
But as they worked, they realized that this was no natural disaster, it was the work of an evil force that threatened not only Metropolis but the entire planet. They needed help, and fast. That's when Batman arrived, along with some other heroes like Dr fate, Zatanna, green lantern, and Aquaman They brought with them the technology, skills, and ingenuity that would be critical in stopping the mysterious enemy that had caused the quake.
I got a really cool superhuman suit from batman that greatly increased my strength and also offer a good defense. As we battled our way through waves of alien attackers, we discovered that the true mastermind behind the invasion was none other than Darkseid, the tyrannical ruler of the planet Apokolips. He had long coveted Earth's resources and was determined to conquer it by any means necessary.
The battle was long and grueling, but in the end, we emerged victorious. Darkseid was defeated and his invasion thwarted, thanks to the combined efforts of Earth's greatest heroes (and me 😉). After the battle, I returned the suit to batman but he told me to keep it, "it's a gift", he said. I spent a few days in metropolis and left after helping to repair damages around the city. I returned to the real world through a portal that was created by batman and cyborg, I do hope to visit the DCU another day and maybe experience another thrilling adventure.
