There are a lot of tools on hive, that I haven’t even heard of or come across. I am so glad I got to learn it in this week’s class in the newbie initiative. This is the sixth task and I am sure there is more to learn on hive.
This week’s task is focused on hive tools, the meeting was hosted by @starstrings01 and our tutor for this week’s session was @olujay. He talked about the tools that we need on hive, how the tools work, and the importance of the tools.
Prior to this, I had already read Olujay’s posts but I never really grasped the full understanding of the tools but through the meeting, I was able to. so, today, I’ll be sharing with you some tools. So, enjoy!
MY PARTNER
My partner of this week is @ginika. Although, we understood most of the tools, but, we discussed some tools and shared suggestions and opinions, we discussed about hive buzz and how it really works, and also we shared our thoughts on hive vote.
THE IMPORTANT OF TRACKING AND MONITORING YOUR PROGRESS ON HIVE.
Tracking your process helps you stay motivated and focused on what you are aiming for, it also helps you to know how your performance is , it spots out what you need to make your priorities, and what you are lagging in, and it makes you know what area needs improvement.
In other words, tracking your process on Hive makes you aware of your status and how far you are. It is quite important for us to keep track of our processes, so we can easily figure out where we need to prioritise.
HIVE BUZZ
Hive buzz is one the tools best used to keep track of your activities on hive. Sometimes, they leave a comment on your post when you’ve achieved something.
To use the hive buzz, just log in on https://hivebuzz.me/ and type in the username on hive. Looking at the top of this first page, you can see the stages of fish, we have five of them and they are called the marine characters, the stage ranges from redfish which is the smallest to whale which is the biggest
This is my profile and as you can see my marine character is a redfish, the smallest, which is quite disappointing. Also, you can see the six numbers under.
The number of posts that I have published, mine is 132 posts
The number of comments that I have made, mine is 1652 comments
The average number of upvotes per post I have received in my posts, mine is 115 upvotes
The total number of author rewards attained in HP, mine is 845
The average author reward attained per post in HP, mine is 6.402
The curation reward is earned in HP when one votes, mine is 2
Looking at this shows that I need to put more effort to grow on hive
HIVE STATS
To use hive stats, just log in to https://hivestats.io/ and insert the username.

My total hive power is 454.36, this is the power that I hold, but not everything is effective and available for me.
My effective HP is 302.43 as I delegated 151.93, my effective HP shows that are available for me, and I can use them at any moment.
My effective HP is what remains from the subtraction of my delegation from my total power. Although, the power is all mine as I can choose not to delegate and have all the power available and effective to me.
My author reward for the last seven days is 9.47 HP, 3.31 HBD, this reward is what I have gained from my posts in the last seven days.
My curation reward for the last seven days is 0.1 HP, this is the reward I get from curating. This is very bad and disappointing, I need to work harder towards upvoting and engaging.
HIVE VOTE
Hive vote is a tool that deals with voting and everything in between, it can be used to follow the curation trail. To use Hive vote, just log in at https://hive.vote/ after logging in using Hivesigner, you will be welcomed.
After that you search for a curation trail to follow, for this task, I’ll be searching for lazy-panda curation trail. After searching, there will be an icon for you to follow, then follow.
You can do some setting to your preferences, for me, I wanted my vote to be 20% and scale voting weight and not fixed so my vote will vary depending on the curator voting weight. I added no wait time to it too.

F.R.I.D.A.Y
Friday is a discord bot notify you about your hive account activities on Discord.
The first thing to do is register an account, which I did by using this command /register then type the account.

After registering, you will be permitted to change some settings using this command /settings and then set it to what you prefer.

For me I did a little bit of settings as you can see, I clicked on the save icon at the top. So, easy right?

With these tools, I can see my progress and activities on hive and I am going to try harder to grow my account.
