Rules are a set of laws or regulations set by a people to guide their conducts or actions.They are set to ensure order, to prevent conflict and chaos and to ensure harmony in the society.
Rules are a part of mankind, they are vital for human co-existence and and living.
Everything in life follows some certain rules even our bodies follows some biological laws.The languages we speak follows a certain rule, the games we play follows some rules too
Often times we feel like rules take away our freedom and cage us, we feel they make us less creative and innovative and sometimes we wish there was no rules or we even try to break the rules.
Rules do not really deprive us anything, rules are not a problem in itself, the problem are those rules that are without reasons and are unjustifiable.
The laws and rules of different groups aren't just created and imposed on people just for no reason. Rules arise from the need to create order, to avoid conflict and ensure harmony between people when they have a common resource or when they share anything in common and also when they have social interactions. Eg when two people jointly own or use a property or resource eg money, there need to be a rule or formula as to how it would be shared or used to avoid conflict and chaos.
Even with the rules and laws made to guide the actions of man and curb evil, we still see horrible things happening, we see how cruel and disastrous man can be. We still have frequent cases of law violation, from little cases of traffic rule violation to serious and heinous crimes like murder. This shows how barbaric humans can be. It gives us a clue of what may happen without rules.
what would happen without rules
Due to the fact that rules are important to maintain order and ensure harmony amongst members of a society, without rules there will be a lot of chaos and disaster. Here are some cases and instances :
unsplashWithout rules the environment would be a mess as people would just dispose their waste on the streets without care
there would be so much traffic if there was no traffic rules ; everyone would want to move their vehicles at the same time and everywhere would get stuck.
if there was no rules murder and theft wouldn't be a crime, people would cease every chance to steal and bully others, they weak and vulnerable would suffer, everyone would arm themselves and there would be total chaos.
If there were no rules people would go against people they hate and people that have wronged them. they will unleash mayhem on them, nations would destroy nations.
If there were no rules, we would return to the times before civilization, the primitive times when human behaved like animals
If rules were taken away even our speech would be incoherent, one may interprete "good morning" to be "you're a fool" and there begins conflict and chaos.
If there was no rules, nothing would have form, there would be no existence because everything in the universe follows some certain rules, rules are even wired in our biological system
Thinking of having no rules in the world is thinking of humans and the universe ceasing to exist because everything in the universe follows some rules
But if have to consider just the man-made rules ceasing to exist in 24hours which I pray it doesn't ever come to be, I would say after 24 hours, the world would be in shambles.
