How fast the world is moving and now, we are in the digital age where people transact with Cryptocurrency. It's sad that many countries are yet to see eye to eye with this development and it is affecting the citizens. One of these countries is my country Nigeria, I still get surprised when some young people act so ignorant regarding crypto or Web3.
The topic is asking that we share the stance of my country on crypto, it's like a coincidence as there was a recent update in this regard.
Before anything, I always reflect on the happenings around me when topics like this come up. My life before I got the knowledge of crypto, Hive especially has been a change that I've always wanted to experience. I may not have made it big with crypto but I've lived better since I start earning from crypto.
Even in the world of crypto, things are evolving that it gets easier to navigate through. One of the Setback with crypto is that many don't find it easy to understand, but learning about it to what I know about it now has been more than enough to grow and teach others too.
It's sad that my country, Nigeria isn't helping this in many ways and they are even making this more difficult for crypto users. I still don't get why crypto can't be accepted in many countries even when they've seen the benefits they can provide with it. Maybe the risks, setbacks and difficult in it might be the reason but they are reasons that can be kept in check.
The recent issue is Nigeria government banning the use of Nigerian naira transactions (P2P) in Binance, the feature a whole lot of Nigerians use for their transactions when they want to make withdrawals. I'm yet to get the full details about this news but it got real when I couldn't use this feature on my binance account.
Thanks to people who find don't rest until they find way out to reduce obstacle set on a lot of us here on Hive, I have found another way to transact and that is Bybit.
The transaction until successful withdrawal isn't as easy as it was while we were using Binance but finding a way out made me happy. If this way was not available, life would have been much difficult for me and many others as a lot of us rely on these transactions to make ends meet and sort out expenses.
I'm not even sure what suggestions I should give as it seem things just keeps getting worse. If Nigeria would accept crypto to a much higher extent, things would be better for her citizens. Although people tell people about crypto and Web3 but I think this should be done even more with the hope that Nigeria will get to see more to what they see crypto as.
I don't know where all this is leading but I pray and hope that it doesn't get worse with crypto in my country but instead, that Nigeria adopts crypto.
