Is it possible to stop content creators from posting whatever they like?
The answer is NO.
Is it possible to stop your kids totally from exploring some kind of platforms?
The answer is NO.
In both ways, this problem will continue to be a problem but the wise parents would not let it be a problem that destroys a child thoughts or mentality. This makes it a responsibility for the parents to guide the children but how?
Some parents would be the ones to buy smart phones for their kids and still be the ones to monitor them so badly, like watching their every move with the phones when they are at home... In the end, the child goes off on his own for school and does worse than the parents will ever imagine the child to do. When they thought they were doing the best for their kids, it was done so wrongly.
Some parents would deprive their kids from using smart phones for fear of them using it wrongly but these kids get lured by others who have the phones and they engage in worse behaviours than the parents imagined. The problem is there in the world, it is the generation we are in now so every parents needs to find what works best for their children.
The owners of platforms or people who share contents online have those they are targeting their contents to, they want to earn money for a living, some want to find validation and many others just do it for fun. They have no responsibility on the child they know nothing about who is hiding away from his family to see their contents.
How about the parents teaching the kids things they will find on the Internet before they actually find them?
I was at a lectureship program today and the main topic was about parents roles in the life of their children. The parents have a lot of work to do, we can't keep blaming people around or those on the platforms for how bad our kids turn out to be. Instead of finding who to blame, how about focusing on doing your best?
One of the best words I heard in the program was... Parents study more and learn faster before your children learns them, let them be surprised by how much you know even more than Google. It was funny but I got the idea of what that means and I want to believe you do too. Times are changing, parents should up their game to catch up and not lose their kids to what isn't worth it.
Watching your kids on their every move with their smart phones may not do the job well enough but to some extent, letting them know what they need to know and also making them understand that you are watching what they do, this might help. Parents should be very close to their kids to the extent of the kids sharing whatever comes to their mind with them so they can know how to help them out.

During the program, someone drew our attention to this feature in our smart phones. I was actually surprised to see that there is something like this for parents to make use of. This feature allows you connect to your children's smart phones and get notified whenever they try to access a site that isn't okay or relevant for them, which you would have specified when you set the feature.
It's a cool feature but I've not used it so I'm not sure how reliable it can be especially for kids who gain more knowledge on how to go about using their smart phones without letting you know through that feature lol. In all, prayers for our children to commit them to God's hand will go a long way in guiding them alongside your human efforts to make them better kids.
