Hi guys!! Welcome to my blog. For our 4th task for the newbies initiative, we were asked to talk about Tokens and tags, And also buy and sell some tokens. Many newbies on Hive don't know the use of tags, therefore they abuse them.
Using the right tags gets your post to the right people. I learned a lot during our hang-out session, we talked about tokens and how important it is to store them, and also how to get them.
I had the privilege to partner with an amazing and zealous young man @nwothini335 .
Let's dive right into the first question for the day.
1. How do you distinguish tags from tokens? What are the similarities and differences as well as the types involved?
Tags are labels we use on our posts. Tags help to classify your posts, which makes it easier for curators to find your posts. When you use the right tags, it benefits both the author and the curator.
( which means, it helps the curators to find their favorite content to curate.) E.g #Diy, #music
Tokensare community layer two tokens that are built on the Hive blockchain. These tokens are created by communities, and they are used to reward community members.
You can also earn these tokens by using their tags, e.g
#neoxian
#Leo
Similarities and differences as well as the types involved
.
Tokens are community-based tokens, that are used to reward an author when they make a post in a community. It's mainly used to reward members.
While
Tags are used to classify your posts.
You can earn some tokens, by using their tags, e.g
Tags Tokens
- #Neoxian. Neoxag
- #leofinance. Leo
- #Alive. ALIVE
- #Hive-engine. Bee
2. Select at least two random community tribes of your choice, explore their front, and give us a review of what you think after going throughgh your profile and feed.
Liketu
I decided to check out Liketu's front end. It's very easy to understand. Liketu is mainly for picture-related posts.
On my blog, I could only see the posts I uploaded via Liketu, but I could easily view my wallet and all my transactions. But I couldn't view my messages.
Ecency
I love how simplified everything is on Ecency front end. It's user-friendly. What I love about it the most, is how it brings the posts of people I interact with the most to the top. It also has a place for mini-blogging just like threads on Leo.
3. What are tipping tokens? Give two examples and abuses of the service
Tipping tokens are used to gift authors. It is the act of sharing and gifting tokens to others. When you find an activating post, and you want to tip the author, all you have to do is initiate the tipping command, and the bot will do the tipping for you. E.g !Pizza !Alive !Beer.
4. Buy and sell a tribe token or any Hive Engine token of your choice. Show the process you took to make this transaction with the necessary screenshots.
Honestly before buying these tokens, I thought it was a very hard process, but trust me, you can do it. It's a very simple process, it isn't complicated at all. All you have to do is follow the instructions and also make sure you read properly and pay close attention when doing this. I bought Leo tokens and I will be taking you on how I did all my transactions
I hope any newbie will find this very useful and also. I used https://beeswap.dcity.io/convert to make this transaction.
Step 1
I logged in using the Hive keychain app.
Firstly you would have to convert your Hive before you would be able to buy your tokens. Here's the process.
Step two
Search for the token you want to buy. I bought the Leo token, and all I did was search for the token I wanted to buy and type the amount I wanted to buy. And you click on the icon at the bottom that says buy Leo, and there you have it, simple and easy.
To sell your Leo tokens, I simply followed the same steps as buying them, but this time around I'm selling. I hope you found this very helpful.
Thanks for stopping by❤
