There is this kind of pain that cuts deeper than physical wounds. At first, I thought it was only heartbreak that could hurt the mind and heart, but experience has taught me that a broken promise can really hurt a man, especially when we sometimes cling to that something promised or someone.

I have learned and grown up to realise that Betrayal can be a very careless act, as well as a broken promise. I have had special people who I often take as mentors promise me things that I have reflected on as a life-changing opportunity, but they failed to fulfil this promise, and they really hurt me a lot because when we think of something more deep than we can ever imagine. This has made me conclude that life is not to fully put my mind into something, especially when it was promised.

So far, the few promises I have had that were broken and really hurt my thoughts were the promise of long-lasting love and the promise of travelling abroad to the USA by my uncle.
Basically, I feel everyone will get to experience this one way or the other, because this is part of life, people disappoint and don't always get to fulfil their promises. I have begun to embrace life and not to depend on people or anyone in my journey of life because life does not always give us what we want but what we attract, which is why I try to embrace everything and every opportunity around me.
My experience with broken promises with my Ex was very hurtful back then, but it was the best decision I made for my life, and truly, as time goes on, I appreciate this promise. But back then it was really hurtful and trust me I tried hard to get over it, but it was difficult because we had promised each other more than anyone ever imagined, but neither of us failed to fulfil these promises.
My uncle's promise of flying me to the USA really got into my head. I felt alive when he said it and trust me, it was really hurtful back then because this was like a dream come true, but the promise failed. My first time when I heard this promise I was very happy and very eager to engage myself in it but it failed to be fulfilled I dont know why, probably he has forgotten, I kept on calling him but he did not pick my calls instead he kept on cutting the calls and ten I noticed this was just an empty promises. It really hurt me back then, but I am still hopeful about this promise even though the failed date has passed.
I am beginning to embrace broken promises as part of life, which is why I don't want to rely on anyone or anything in life, because I know broken promises can really cause mental health breakdowns or even affect our minds and thoughts. I just want to live my life peacefully with no distractions or disturbances.
